Worst Western
The service at this location has to have been the worst that I have received in a very long time.
Upon arrival, we were told that our room was #329, and after walking all the way across the hotel to that toom, the key didnt work. We decided to try 1 floor down at #229, because the documentation had 2 conflicting numbers. This was the correct room, but it was a smaller standard room than the upgrade that I had paid for through a 3rd party. I had clearly selected a room with a King bed... and it was clearly stated on my confirmation. When we called to see if we could make a correction, the woman said to come back to the front so they could "see what they could do".
When we walked back, the woman believed that we had selected a standard queen room, and said the she could make an exception and give us a "free upgrade". As I was listening and gathering my thoughts to respond, she condescendingly looked and me, frustrated, and said "you're welcome".... I was stunned. I politely informed her that my confirmation shows that I selected and paid for this upgrade, and showed her where it specifically states "King Bed" in the confirmation. She said "thats so weird" and that it should be "more specific"... the quote below is my conversation with the third party booking agency after experiencing this rude misunderstanding:
"Thanks for confirming the booking details. Since your reservation is for a Standard Double room with a king size bed, that's the room type you should receive at check-in.
If the hotel isn't honoring the room type you booked, please show them your Super.com confirmation email or the booking details, as it clearly lists the king size bed."
Once we were given keys to a room that we PAID FOR, the ameneties were disappointing. The most noteworthy is the television. It was a large smart Samsung TV, however, the hotel is too cheap to allow their smart TV to connect to their own network. When selecting the Netflix button (expecting to be able to log into our personal account), the TV would sat "not connected to network". When we went into the settings, the Network connection was grayed out... meaning the hotel purposefully adjusted the settings so that their own devices cannot connect to their own internet. They also did not even offer any HD channels to match the TV, so the only selections available were some old blurry analog channels.
The charging station for our EV was also aburdly high. They tried to charge $3 per hour just to be connected to the SLOW charger. It would have taken the car 9 hours to charge at their location, and the app said that the hotel sets their own price. I have never seen a slow charger cost so much or be so obscenely slow. We ended up just driving 5 minutes away to a dealership to charge there so that this hotel couldn't get any more money from us. I refused to even buy anything from their vending machine.
Some smaller complaints were the coffee maker not working and the grunget carpet, but those pale in comparison to the passive aggressive, rude, and innaccurate service that we received.
We will never stay at a Best Western again.
