I am writing this review after multiple attempts to get someone from customer service to reach out to me and no one from the hotel/winery has been bothered to respond despite multiple people from the front desk or via email saying the manager Nick will contact me. If I could give zero stars I would. This review comes from a poor experience I had related to a reservation I was asked to cancel by hotel staff. I had booked a stay for the Fall of 2026 back in December of 2025 and was reached out to in early March by staff to let me know that a wedding was going to occur while we were staying there. The first correspondence through email discussed potentially placing us at another part of the hotel/vineyard away from the wedding if we wanted but did not say anything about needing to cancel. I then received a phone message which I returned the call on 3/6 where I was asked to cancel the reservation with little discussion about how this could be made up other than offering to rebook right then and there. I told the staff that this would not be possible as we do not live in Oregon and the only time we had taken off was that weekend. I was told by hotel staff that someone would reach out to me to discuss with me further. This never happened. I emailed this particular staff member and they never replied. I then emailed the general contact email and did receive a reply that “Nick” would contact me but again never did and it’s been over a week. I understand that a two person reservation does not carry the same weight as a wedding reservation--however we had already purchased flights and made other reservations all based on this stay for my husband's and my anniversary. It was confusing and misleading that the first email stated we could be at the property but then on the phone were basically told we need to cancel. As people who themselves were married at a hotel property with other guests besides the wedding party, I find it difficult to understand how all non-wedding party guests are asked to cancel their reservations without more of an offering of just "rebooking" at another time. The whole way this situation was handled was unprofessional and the lack of response just shows how clearly unvalued guests are. While this estate was initially the main reason for our trip to Oregon, I know now that I would never want to go there with how customers are treated.

Our stay at The Grange was truly a sweet oasis. From the moment we arrived, the welcoming staff, Ryan and Rochelle, made us feel completely at home. They were so kind and accommodating that it honestly felt like staying with close friends rather than at a hotel. The property itself is luxurious yet warm and inviting, with plenty of beautiful spaces to curl up with a book or enjoy meaningful conversation with fellow guests. Susan at the cellar crafted delicious drinks for us as well. Breakfast this morning was a standout. The selections were incredibly fresh, farm to table, and clearly made with intention and care. Everything was top notch from beginning to end. The views of Mount Hood and Mount Jefferson are breathtaking and add to the peaceful charm of the entire experience. Nestled right in the heart of wine country, this is absolutely the place to stay with the hospitality experts. You will not regret it.

Black Walnut Inn was exceptional and truly elevated our entire wine country experience. The service was outstanding—warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful from start to finish. The rooms were beautiful, comfortable, and impeccably maintained, with stunning vineyard views that made mornings and evenings unforgettable. This felt less like a hotel and more like being welcomed into a refined, peaceful retreat. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.
