Beautiful views of the bridge of the gods and surrounding area. Mostly clean, there is a train close by, and you have to walk next door for the breakfast at the restaurant, but the hotel gives you a voucher. It was a pretty amazing experience overall!
simple yet doing it well. nice and quiet. clean, well-furnished room including a keurig and microwave. wifi works well. tv allows for easy netflix use. coffee machine in the lobby. welcoming front desk. complementary breakfast. on the river. good options for food and drinks nearby. dog friendly (with a fee). altogether a thorough and easy and solid stay.

Such a Beautiful Location with fantastic staff from housekeeping to front desk. Can’t say enough nice things about John at the front desk. He is Awesome! Our room was amazing with beautiful views of the river out of every window and the iconic Bridge of the Gods as well. Most definitely on our list to come stay again.

If I could give this a 10 star I would.
Before I arrived John made me feel welcome with a follow up call that was so friendly. The service is above and beyond, personable. Rooms are very clean and sound proof! My dogs and I were able to get some really good rest, the bed was very comfortable. The riverwalk view is very beautiful. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip to Portland.

I expected a more secluded location and the hotel looks a lot bigger in the pictures, but it sits right off a busy road, which was noticeable from our room since we didn’t have a river view. It was much smaller in person and so were the rooms.
Unfortunately, our room faced the back of an attached building and was right next to the elevator, so we could hear people coming and going. The room itself was clean, but the air conditioner was very noisy.
A week before arrival we received an email about construction happening during our stay, even though the reservation had been paid as non-cancelable months in advance. I understand renovations have to happen, but there were exposed nails in stairwells where carpet had been removed, along with hammering noises early in the morning. Staff told us construction would start at 9am, but work actually began around 7am.
When we arrived, the front desk staff didn’t seem very prepared to greet guests, and they weren’t very helpful in answering questions. The manager did cancel our reservation upon request so we could move to another Best Western in Hood River, which I appreciated, though the sudden change ended up costing us an extra $400. I would not mind giving this hotel another chance after renovations and I think it would be worth the money to get a riverside view instead.
They do have a diner that you can go to that is included in your stay for breakfast that was pretty good. The staff experience was ok.
