Rooms are clean and nice. We got a room facing the river and our view was spectacular. There's a paved walkway along the river and a trolley that will stop right outside the hotel and pick you up for a dollar and it takes you along the river. The trolley is a must try and the other way from the river is the Goonies house from the movie Goonies just a 10 minute walk away. The shops and restaurants are very reasonable and the people around here are extra friendly and glad to give you a wave 👋

Ants in room a LOT of tiny ants, and 6am next door occupant waking our whole family up talking and yelling on speakerphone for nearly an hour. I hate this place because I expect sleep in my hotel room and no bugs.

Terrible experience. The morning/day shift front desk acted burdened and annoyed. Non helpful, extremely poor customer service. Far more customer oriented hotels in the area to choose from. While they do not bother me, if you have any issue at all witb noise the sea lions will keep you up at night and the transients around the hotel are a bit sketchy. Far more better places to stay.

The hotel was clean and the room was adequate AFTER I insisted on it. There was a problem with my booking, and when that became apparent, the clerk became absolutely awful, insisting (practically shrieking) that it was a third party booking and so she couldn't do anything about it. Then she LEFT THE DESK TO GO DO CHORES, leaving me standing there speechless. I called customer service, validated that it was NOT a 3rd party booking. The clerk still would not answer any of my questions, just talked over me. When things got sorted and I WAS able to check in, I was assigned a shitty no-view room on the first floor. I insisted on a better room and finally got it.
THIS IS HOW REWARDS MEMBERS ARE TREATED! I WILL NEVER GIVE BEST WESTERN ANY OF MY BUSINESS.

Update: After explaining to staff last night that it’s not Priceline. The best western website also shows the room is available and you can reserve it. I went through the entire process aside from purchasing the room just to show her it’s still shows it’s vacant. They said the manager would give me a complimentary night for all the confusion and that she wasn’t there until the morning and to talk to her then. Talked with the manager upon check out and she again blamed it entirely on Priceline after showing her that their very own best western website shows the room is available and its crap they keep blaming me for using a third party to make the booking. She then told me I would have to talk to her manager. Yet her badge literally said manager…It wouldn’t have mattered any way because no matter what site you use best western has it in their system that the room is available. I honestly don’t care about the room but when you specifically pick a room out you sort of expect that room and not a bunch of lame excuses and shifting the blame. I took some screen shots of the website listing last night and posted those below.
Booked a king suite with full kitchen and they gave me a regular queen room, said the king was booked and still charged me for the king suite. Blamed it on me using Priceline and that I should have been a best western member and booked directly through them. Bs customer service. Bs hotel. Won’t ever be back here.
