The hotel it self was nice. The bed quite comfortable. However, I was quite disappointed with the customer service. The room adjoined to ours was full of what seemed like 19 year olds. All night they were banging the doors and yelling. I made 3 noise complaints and nothing improved when security arrived. My partner and I did not get any sleep due to this. When I complained the next morning, all the desk worker said was “sounds like they had a good party!”. Then said that they offer ear plugs for our next stay. Would’ve been helpful to know when it was needed not after the fact. Unfortunately will not be returning.

MAKE A BACK UP PLAN if you book this hotel. We stayed there for 3 nights April 2026 as part of a team from Ottawa attending the Provincial Volleyball Tournament. The hotel was full of players and families. We had booked this room 3+ months in advance BUT when we arrived in the hotel we noticed posted signs throughout saying that a "planned" service to the water system would be taking place on the night of the 19th - meaning no water, no toilets, no showers, no restaurants beginning that evening. What is frustrating about this is that the hotel knew well in advance about this shut off of an essential service, but did not notify guests in advance which would have given us a chance to seek alternate accommodations. Instead, once we were checked in, we were stuck with their hotel and the lack of water service. Water is an essential service that must be provided. They chose profit over customer service which is further supported by the lack of any response from the hotel manager to my inquiry on this issue (instead they wanted to give me hotel points - no thanks!). As you would expect, the hotel is very old and dated, but trust me, not being able to use a toilet or take a shower (especially for all of the athletes) is just gross. We may as well have camped outside. To make things worse, when the water service was restored the next day, the taps were delivering dark/blackened water.
If you are planning to stay here for FIFA or any other purpose, you may want to look elsewhere as this hotel is not in the actual hospitality service, they are in the profit business.

Rooms are on the smaller side but clean and comfortable. We skipped the hotel breakfast and would recommend doing the same, there are plenty of options within a block or two that are a better value. Parking through the hotel was pricey, so we opted for separate parking. The location is excellent—easy walking distance to many great attractions and areas of the city.
We experienced a hotel-wide water outage during our stay, with no water for about 11 hours—several hours longer than initially communicated. Even once service returned, there was no hot water for approximately 14 hours, which was a significant inconvenience. We called the front desk twice requesting bottled water during the outage and were told it would be sent up, but it never arrived to our room.
If we were back in the area, we might consider staying again, but would hope for a smoother experience.

We checked in and were only told upon check in that there would be no water in the hotel from 9pm to 5am (toilets, taps and showers not functioning). There was no advance notice or email sent to warn us about this shut down. We were in town for the OVA volleyball provincials and got back after a long day of playing, and my son wasn't able to even have a shower. The water finally came back on at 730am and then there was no hot water until around 11am due to boilers needing to heat up. The parking below the hotel is awful. It took 15 minutes for cars to even get into the garage. The door kept shutting and the gate wouldn't let cars through. Once in the garage, there were only 2 spots available and these would barely fit a small sedan. After multiple attempts to park, we gave up and exited the garage. We then got stuck between the door and gate at the exit and no one would answer the intercom to let us out. After about 7 minutes the gate went up and we had to park across the street and pay more than the hotel parking option. We parked and went across the street to the back door of the hotel, only to find it locked. We called to be let in and it took another 6 mins for someone to come. This door in down in a dark alley like hallway and this felt very unsafe at night. The final straw was the elevator wait time. On average it would take 3 elevators full of people to finally get on. We gave up on the idea of using the pool as there was not even any space for a body to fit in the water and no towels, not to mention the elevator ride time to get back to our room. This was a calamity of errors and we will most definitely not be staying here again.

A perfectly adequate hotel. The location is amazing and the rooms are decent although my sheets were stained with hair on them but I am confident they were washed so no huge harm. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the thermostat was easy to use and quiet.
I would definitely pass on the breakfast buffet although kids will likely enjoy it. The variety is decent but the only thing I enjoyed the flavour of was the muffin and fruit which for me would not be worth $28. Ask for a room higher up or on the non Carlton side as traffic can be quite noisy. Also hot water was better higher up.
However when I was there, there was drilling on the upper floors, a lot of drilling, so I was moved to the lower floor which was better until 4am when I awoke from some loud street noises. Bring earplugs or a fan for white noise.
The pool is a good size, if you are swimming laps like me you just have to duck under the rope that separates the shallow end from the deep end. The gym was under construction but looked decent.
There were some scuffs and scrapes on the furniture but overall it was clean enough and again, perfectly adequate. For a budget hotel, I’d stay there again and hope for less construction. There are lots of food options around.
Parking is pricy but that’s standard at hotels these days. Do the express check out if you can. Enjoy!
