After 28 years, I finally was staying back at the Intercontinental on Front. Back in 1998, it was known as the Crowne Plaza though. Regardless, I was excited to try it out as we've stayed in most nice Toronto hotels. Upon arrival, I was bummed out that we couldn't access the hotel from the PATH/Skywalk as usual because there was the Autoshow event on. So we went outside via the Delta and walked up the street to the Intercontinental. I was greeted by the gentleman at the front desk and I asked if we could get a free upgrade (since the hotel didn't look overly busy) and he acted like I got lucky and said we could for $50. Which was the same deal if I would have just booked a more expensive room. I declined and mentioned how Marriott usually gives a free upgrade, and my status there is Silver, so quite low. But, as a newer IHG member, charging for upgrades was newer to me. At check-in, he mentioned a $25/night amenity fee. I've never heard of this before but I was intrigued to see what exciting things we get for the $25. Turns out it's things such as: • High Speed Internet • 2 Bottles of water on arrival • Free local calls • Access to 24/7 gym • $10 credit at the restaurant for lunch or dinner, can't stack credit if you're there multiple days • 5% off of $100 or more spent at the spa Now every other hotel includes all that in the actual rate and doesn't make it seem like getting high speed Internet in 2026 is some sort of unique perk that constitutes it in an amenity fee. The fitness area was ok according to my wife. Has all the standard things. Nothing incredible about it though. The pool was quite nice as was the hot tub and sauna. Please note though, there is a separate woman's sauna from the men's one. They're in the change room area. The pool was 4 feet depth all around, so not very shallow for the real young kids. The pool was a nice temperature, definitely heated. There is a small kiddy pool that feels like a cold plunge my son said. The bad (or good in some cases) with the pool is that there are two prime hours of the day where no kids are allowed in it which is 7 am to 8 am and 8 pm to 9 pm. We were bummed out that on our last day, we arrived at the pool for 8 am, then the pool guy was doing testing, and then kicked everyone out around 830 for 20 minutes. We were all talking in the hot tub that it's weird that they don't do all that testing before the pool opens. The room was pretty good. Decent size. We had a two double bed room, which I forgot how small double beds out, and we're not large people. The bathroom was nice. Good lotion and soaps. Smelled great. The shower was very nice. There is a refrigerator in the room which is stocked with absurdly priced drinks. You can use the fridge and put your own stuff in there. You need to break the tab on the fridge and then you can access it. TV was decent but didn't have a built in Netflix or YouTube which was a bummer. It uses chrome cast or something which wasn't ideal at all. We were placed on the 17th floor and the ice machine was broken for ar least 24 hours. You can't use your card to go to other floors, so you need to use housekeeping to deliver ice which is annoying. On our second day while out and about, we were texted by the hotel asking how the stay was going on a 1-5 scale, I said 3, they asked why and I mentioned we were bummed out about the ice machine, the pool hours and how small the double beds were. Also that they don't do free upgrades, especially when the hotel isnt very full. We were then offered a 2 queen bed room, which I declined because it was 1:00pm and we were out and about and we were going to be gone by 10 am the next morning. So it's be a massive inconvenience. It would have been nicer if they just upgraded when I asked for a free upgrade. Terrible service. Probably one of the worst hotels for service that I've experienced. They did end up waiving the amenity fee for both nights which is such a silly fee. All in all, it was just mediocre. 2/5 ⭐⭐

I recently had the pleasure of visiting InterContinental Toronto Centre, and I can confidently say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The location is absolutely perfect—right in the heart of downtown, with easy access to major attractions, dining, and entertainment. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance felt elegant yet welcoming, and the staff greeted me with genuine warmth and professionalism. The rooms are beautifully designed, exceptionally clean, and very comfortable, with plush bedding and thoughtful amenities that make you feel truly cared for. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere despite being in such a vibrant area—it allowed for restful sleep and relaxation. The facilities, including the fitness center and pool, were well-maintained and added to the overall sense of luxury. What really stood out was the level of service. Every team member I interacted with was attentive, courteous, and eager to help, creating a personalized and memorable stay. Whether you’re visiting Toronto for business or leisure, this hotel delivers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and sophistication. I would gladly return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a premium stay in the city.

I booked this hotel without expectations just a wonderful location as I was heading to Toronto for the Jo Koy Concert. I arrived earlier than anticipated and was greeted with the best smile from Ayomide!! She welcomed me and was incredibly polite! I chatted a bit about my stay. She explained all of the hotel amenities and checked me in quickly! I got to my room, it was spacious, very clean and smelled wonderful! I was not sure how to open the fridge (there was a tag on it that I broke) I called and had service at my door to help me with in minutes!!! A few hours late I got a text from Ayomide wishing me a wonderful stay and fun at the concert. Who remembers what their guests are going to be doing while staying in Toronto??? The beds are incredibly comfortable. The breakfast (which was included in my room package) was AMAZING. I honestly was expecting a continental easy breakfast but NO THIS WAS AMAZING!! The amount of choices available were incredible and the service was friendly and personable! A very affordable choice in the heart of downtown Toronto!! I will be back for sure!!!

We spent our first night at the hotel having dinner at Azure Restaurant. The staff was very kind, professional, and friendly from the moment we arrived. Our server, Rhodena, was especially attentive and personable. She took the time to explain the menu, offered thoughtful recommendations, and helped us make wonderful selections that we thoroughly enjoyed. Her warm, genuine approach made the evening feel relaxed and special. The atmosphere at Azure was elegant yet comfortable, and it was the perfect way to begin our stay. We are still guests at the hotel and, after such a lovely first experience, we are truly looking forward to enjoying the rest of our vacation.

Stayed here and it was by FAR the best hotel out of the 10 or so I've stayed at in Toronto. Ardiz from reception was extremely kind and efficient, it was a super smooth check-in process and she helped us out any time we had a question or needed anything. Everything was extremely clean and well maintained, from the lobby to the elevators, the pool, and everything in the room. We had a magnificent view of the CN tower and the lake, and it was only a few minutes to walk to all kinds of restaurants and entertainment. We will definitely be coming back again!
