I travel frequently to Thunder Bay and today there are few hotels that offer the amenities and service that was once on par with this Hampton Inn. At first glance this hotel seems new and modern, clean and one that maintains decent service levels- but over the last several stays and many months I’m noticing a change in care within the hotel. Rooms are not properly cleaned, maintenance issues are going unnoticed and guests seem to have to make requests for service levels that should naturally be apart of what we pay for. This is getting so bad that during my last stay there was blood on a pillow and hair in the bed- obvious signs of reuse of linens. With the price paid for this hotel at peak, service and standards should be top notch no exception.

Im a professional motorcoach driver and I spent close to 200 nights per year in hotels throughout Canada mostly and the USA. I stay at Hampton Inn and Suites locations all over the place and overall these are a great place to stay, decent value for your buck for a mid class hotel BUT this one on Arthur St. in Thunder Bay, Ontario Canada must be made out of gold because the rates for everything is out of control considering I brought a group of near 40 people to this place. No breaks on rooms, $300 per night where at most other Hamptons you are looking at $190. I went to purchase 2 Glaceau Vitamin Waters....normally a price inflated item at most hotels... maybe $4.00....nope! At this place $6.25 a piece. I slid them back to the staff member at the front desk and called their pricing insulting, I witnessed them trying to penalize another patron $800 for suspected smoking in their room, threats to my motorcoach customers of a $250 fine if they were caught with a hockey bag in their room, the reason why we Travellers Thunder Bay in the first place. Most hotels go out of their way to accommodate teams and often offer space without threat for teams to put their gear. This hotel offered a space not much larger than a closet.....another point in closing, a customer of ours was asked to give a $800 retainer fee for her room because he husband's name was on the reservation visa for the room...not hers. I've never heard of so much bullshit over one single weekend. If anyone reads this, I say a flat out NO WITH 40 EXCLAMATION POINTS...one for every person they insulted in our group who chose this Hilton for their 3 night stay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don't give this place your hard earned money, ownership does not appreciate their customers. Peace ✌️

We were there for a Hockey tournament. The hotel never informed nor indicated on their website that hockey bags are not allowed in the rooms. The front desk posted warnings on walls that a $250 fine will be placed if hockey bags are taken to the rooms.
This is extremely unprofessional for the hotel to do and we were put in a bad situation.
The players were forced to leave the bags in a maintenance room that was filled with a lot of tools.
Not recommended to stay there if you travel for hockey.

I just checked out of room 312 on nov 2 2025, had a great stay with my family. But sadly we forgot our gaming console, an Nintendo switch 2. And we know where we left it in the room. But sadly no one has turned it into the lost and found. Now I don’t know what the consequences are for housekeepers stealing, but overall the service and amenities were great. I’ll definitely keep coming back for another stay in the future.
