We travel annually with 100+ students from Queen’s University to partake in a mock parliament held in the House of Commons on the Hill. This year, we decided to stay at the Holiday Inn Downtown and were thoroughly impressed with the hospitality and professionalism shown throughout our stay. From check-in to check-out, the staff were incredibly accommodating, patient, and kind - especially given the size of our group. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the hotel’s central location made it extremely convenient for travelling to and from Parliament Hill. Staff went above and beyond to ensure our students felt welcome and supported, which made a huge difference in the overall success of our trip. We are extremely grateful for the care shown to our group and would highly recommend the Holiday Inn Downtown Ottawa to any large student group or organization looking for a reliable, welcoming place to stay. As the Logistics Director, I wanted to give a special thank you to Niloo Izadnia for his diligent attention to detail leading up to our stay and Kelly from the front desk, who was very helpful with my many questions and requests!

The staff were friendly and welcoming, and service throughout our stay was positive. The location, however, is extremely busy, which made coming and going a bit stressful. Parking in particular was a real challenge and felt very disorganized and chaotic. Additionally, there seemed to be people living in the hotel long-term, which felt a bit unusual and affected the overall atmosphere. Overall, the room quality and friendly service were positives, but the busy surroundings and parking situation detracted from the experience.

Everything was clean and my 10 year old says the washroom is "epic" because it has a walk-in shower. Some of the parking spots in the underground parking were a tight squeeze for the mini van, and took careful manueving to get into a space. The hotel is located fairly close to everything, which is great. The ice machine on floor 10 did not work, but thankfully a house keeping staff was nearby and told me there was one on the 8th floor.
