Very disappointing front desk experience at Hilton Garden Inn Ottawa.
On December 13 around noon, I called the hotel to ask if early check-in at 3:00 PM was possible. The staff member I spoke with checked availability and confirmed that a room would be available.
When we arrived at the hotel, we were told there were no rooms available and that we would need to wait until 4:00 PM, with no apology or explanation for the conflicting information. Then the front desk agent, Meti, mentioned that a connecting room was available if we wanted it. We declined and said we will wait.
When we returned at 4:00 PM to check in, we were then given the exact same connecting room we had originally been told about. This made the one-hour wait completely unnecessary and showed a clear lack of organization and communication at the front desk. At this point, I did not want to say something, as I was dealing with a high fever and just wanted to rest.
While the room itself was fine & comfortable, the customer service provided by Meti was disappointing. She was dismissive, unhelpful, and made the interaction uncomfortable rather than welcoming.
The hotel itself is decent, but the front desk experience significantly impacted our stay. I would not stay here again.

Stayed one night and had the breakfast buffet. Rooms were exceptionally clean and quiet. Bed was little uncomfortable but decent enough.
Breakfast was terrible. Everything was unseasoned, greasy and dried up. I was really disappointed.
They will give you a fee for everything. It is really frustrating.
Service was okay for the most part. The front desk staff was okay. The person manning the podium at the breakfast was not very nice. Seem annoyed. I was really upset with the waiter we had. I asked for the bill and he brought it to my husband and ignored me when it came to talking about making the payment. I felt it was sexist and felt disrespected.
