Recently stayed for 2 nights and had issues with the initial room. After talking to Afsana at the front desk she did her best with finding me another room and made sure my stay was comfortable. She was great and very professional! Thank you for making my stay comfortable! You changed the whole experience!

Stayed at this hotel lastnight and was disappointed. Our first room was not bad clean good size but the tv would not work .we were switched to another room it ended up being an accessibility room. The bed was horrible and uncomfortable ,the pillows were so lumpy and the room was hot no matter how low I turned the heat down.
The staff was excellent and the breakfast was good but the room was horrible

My wife and I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years because our daughter attends Carleton University. Unfortunately, the condition and management of this property have been in steady decline. This most recent stay was unacceptable, especially considering we paid full price.
Upon arrival, the lobby was pure chaos. The front desk was overwhelmed, construction workers were cutting tile and moving through guest areas, and dust and debris were everywhere. There was no effort to contain the construction or shield guests from it. The entire lower level smelled strongly of wet dog.
The breakfast situation perfectly summed up how poorly this hotel is being run. Because the main breakfast area is under construction, we were seated in another part of the hotel. Only after sitting down were we told we needed breakfast tickets something we were never given at check-in.
When I went to the front desk, I took the opportunity to explain our complete dismay with the condition of the hotel. We were offered no discount, no compensation, and no apology. Instead, the staff reluctantly wrote one breakfast ticket and then informed me it would be another twenty dollars to eat breakfast from trays of food that were frankly unappealing and poorly presented. Paying extra for that, after already paying full price for the room, was insulting.
The pool and hot tub were unusable due to overwhelming chlorine levels that burned your eyes and bleached our bathing suits. Our room was reasonably clean, but the shower pressure was awful, and the bathroom fan was abrasively loud. At 2:00 a.m., we were woken up by children screaming and running above us, with no staff intervention.
The front desk staff are the core problem here. They appeared far more interested in having loud, inappropriate personal conversations than helping guests. There was no sense of professionalism, urgency, or accountability. This hotel is clearly mismanaged and poorly staffed.
This property feels like it is coming unglued. Construction chaos, poor communication, indifferent staff, and zero consideration for guests all while charging full price. What was once a convenient place to stay is now disorganized, unpleasant, and not worth the money. We will not be returning.

Impossible Stay
On arrival one only finds out that the hotel is under renovations and cannot be entered through the front doors by a small paper sign pasted to the front doors with no arrow and only instructions to enter through the side door
One then needs to gather up all the bags and find the side door without any direction signage. How are first time visitors expected to find a random side door!
Signage for disabled parking patrons has also been removed in the parking lot… A violation for the City of Ottawa disabled persons by-law!
The entire front of the hotel is under renovations, with the check-in desk surrounded by floor to ceiling plastic!
On check in there is no recognition for being a Gold member and after check-in is complete, we had to ask for breakfast coupons which are complimentary for Gold members!
The assigned room appeared to be an adjoining room and as such had no work space or chair – Just a bed.
The room was changed to another room with a chair and work space – Upon entering the room the temperature resembled a sauna; however, the thermostat was turned off!
Before jumping in the shower, we turned the thermostat down to 63.0F
The shower was a disaster after finding the shampoo bottle empty in the middle of the shower!
After the shower the room was even hotter with the vent blowing in more hot air.
Maintenance arrived and their solution was to tinker with the unit so it only blew cold air and we were instructed to call maintenance back if we wanted hot air and they would tinker with the unit to get hot air!
With an overnight temperature of -18.0 waking during the night to have maintenance back in the room was not an acceptable option.
The manager attempted to explain that the whole hotel was boiler controlled and every room was the same – Ironically the first room was a livable temperature and her brush off came across as BS!
She then allowed us to check-out and off we went to the Homewood Suites at considerably increased cost!
After a long day, comfort is the premise of a hotel stay.
This property strangely enough cannot provide a comfortable temperature in the rooms, as well it is also poorly operated during renovations and clients are certainly not welcomed in the Conrad Hilton custom!
