Wow. What an experience. Come for a party - not to sleep. This is a very old hotel trying to do a “baller on a budget” facelift. See photos. Which I can look past. But what I couldn’t understand was the fact that the security guard told us this is the only chain hotel in the area still accepting youth hockey teams. Which means be prepared for screaming and playing tag in the hall until 1am. Also, be prepared for paper-thin walls where you can literally hear word-for-word the conversations happening in the room next door. Also, after being moved to another floor (to try and get some sleep at 11:30PM) we found out the keys on that floor don’t work. So we had to go and get the front desk staff to let us in and out of our room every time we moved throughout our stay. Maintenance was supposed to help- showed up once and said “I need to get some tools” and never came back. Do better Hilton, I’ll take my $300 elsewhere.

The good and the bad. The room was really nice looking, looked like it had been recently renovated but we had a bottom floor room and it was quite noisy above us and u could hear lots around us too. We were offered free warm cookies upon arrival which was nice but the pool was in the other building. The worst part was the bathroom door, it's a sliding barn door style and when I went in I accidentally pulled it too far and it came off, had someone else not been there it would have been very difficult for me to put back on alone. In addition to that, a door that doesn't really shut or lock gives minimal to zero privacy to do your business and there was no fan to turn on either. However the bed was decent and the pillows were great. Lots of storage for luggage, no microwave and the chair at desk looked worse for wear with bent legs, we avoided it. In addition, when we arrived the parking lot was very poorly maintained, the snow wasn't plowed in some of the parking lot so you had to walk through snow and slush. The sidewalks were salted but slushy, I was nervous I would slip.

I stopped by the DoubleTree recently, and I have to say, Janice at the front desk is incredible. Even though I wasn’t staying at the hotel, she treated me with the same warmth and professionalism as if I were a guest. She was so friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, and she carried herself with such a positive attitude that it immediately stood out.
The hotel itself also looked really beautiful—clean lobby, welcoming atmosphere, and great amenities from what I could see. It left a strong impression, and honestly, Janice alone makes the DoubleTree feel like a place worth coming back to.
Amazing service, amazing energy. Huge shout-out to Janice for going above and beyond!
