Dark, depressing rooms, a rude front desk experience at check-in, and very inconsistent housekeeping. My family and I stayed here for a few weeks and the best way I can describe the experience is simply “mid.” At check-in, I stood waiting to be acknowledged while staff acted as if I wasn’t there… So not a great first impression. There are apparently only two luggage trolleys, so we had to wait quite a while to unload, and once we got one it was extremely wobbly and hard to steer. The parking garage has very low ceiling beams and exposed pipes in certain areas, and we nearly damaged our trunk before realizing how tight it was! if you have a larger vehicle, be very careful.
The rooms themselves were dark and gloomy with poorly thought-out lighting. For example, one room had 2 bedside lamps- one had a yellow bulb while the other was bright white, almost neon. One of the two rooms we stayed in didn’t even have a ceiling light, so we often used our phone flashlights just to go through our belongings once daylight was gone. That said, the rooms were impressively clean when we arrived… no hair, dirt, water stains, or corrosion in the shower. It was all clean which was surprising given how dated and dingy they felt.
Housekeeping, however, was extremely hit or miss. Someone came roughly every other day, but the level of service varied so much we never knew what to expect. Occasionally they would restock coffee, toilet paper, and towels, but more often they only made the beds and left everything else untouched: trash not emptied, supplies not replenished, nothing. On the positive side, nothing ever went missing, which we appreciated since there’s no in-room safe.
Breakfast was one of the main reasons we chose a hotel over an Airbnb, yet we only went twice during our entire stay. The food ranged from just okay to not worth eating, but that wasn’t even the biggest issue. Guests are expected to scrape their plates and dump leftover liquids into a large communal plastic bowl filled with other people’s half-chewed food, cereal, yogurt, and liquids! it was genuinely repulsive. I’m more than happy to return dishes, but that shared liquid bin was enough to keep us from going back. To make matters worse, it’s right beside the coffee station, so you’re either waiting behind people carrying full, dirty plates or grabbing your coffee next to a bowl of other guests’ leftovers. We travel often and stay in many hotels each year, and we’ve never seen anything like this.
Between the rude front desk staff, inconsistent housekeeping, the gross breakfast setup, and the overall depressing rooms, I wouldn’t stay here again.
