Our stay at the Hampton Inn by Hilton in Hamilton, Ontario was outstanding from start to finish. The hotel felt very new and modern, and everything—from the lobby to the fitness center—was spotless. The secure underground parking was a huge plus: well-lit, easy to access from the elevator, and roomy, with convenient in-and-out privileges using your room key. The location itself was also very easy to find, and our corner room on the 6th floor offered a beautiful view of the bay.
Inside, the room was extremely clean, quiet, and comfortable. The AC unit ran smoothly with steady white noise—perfect for sleeping—and temperature adjustment was simple. The king-size bed was firm with a plush pillow topper, and the blackout curtains did an amazing job keeping out the morning light. There were plenty of outlets and USB ports, including in the breakfast area, which made charging devices easy. The bathroom was spotless, with hot water, strong water pressure, and eco-friendly toiletries that smelled light and pleasant. The pool and fitness center were also highlights—both very clean, well maintained, great temperature, and equipped with everything we needed. Great free WiFi – never an issue with any of our devices and streaming.
The breakfast buffet exceeded expectations, offering a wide range of options able to suit different dietary needs—gluten-free, vegetarian, and dairy-free included. The staff kept everything stocked and tidy, and the coffee was excellent. Speaking of the staff, they were truly top notch—friendly, attentive, and professional. They greeted us warmly, checked in by text to ensure we were comfortable, and even helped us select a new room when our original was not quite ready. They also went above and beyond to make up the sofa sleeper for us when we requested extra bedding. Check-in and checkout were seamless, especially using the Hilton Honors app, which I highly recommend for room selection, digital key access, and fast checkout.
As for the more neutral aspects, the hotel offers standard amenities like the in-room mini-fridge, coffee maker, pillows, and blankets, along with typical check-in/out times and large cable TV. I appreciated that all guides and menus were now digital, accessible through a QR code or the app—cleaner and more modern than the old paper versions—and receipts were emailed, which was convenient. The sofa sleeper was typical - not super comfortable, but functional.
If I had a few small wishes, they would be for a handheld showerhead, a built-in shower bench or extra grab bar (the floor was a bit slippery), and a few more towels in the bathroom. It also would have been nice to have extra bedding already in the room for the sofa sleeper, though again, the staff handled it promptly and cheerfully. Lastly, a hotel restaurant or room service would have been a nice addition, but ordering delivery was easy, and the front desk kindly called us when our food arrived.
Overall, this hotel impressed me in every way that truly matters: it is exceptionally clean, secure, comfortable, and well-managed. The staff genuinely care about their guests, and every detail—from the modern décor to the eco-conscious amenities—reflects Hilton’s commitment to quality. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Hamilton.
