Wifi did not work for the three days i was there. The climate control in the room had one setting "LC", and it blasted cold air continuously (it was mid winter). The thermostat controls did nothing. I had to disconnect it to stop it turning our room into an icebox.
IT called about the wifi but the person's accent was so thick, we could not understand each other. They kept blaming the connectivity problem on my device, even though every other device in the room wasn't connecting either (my wife or my daughter's). They insisted I change my device settings, which didn't help, and now my device isn't working properly either. Front desk was no help.
Then the toilet backed up and maintenance person hard to find. Also, my magnetic card stopped working all of a sudden. Couldn't get into my room in the middle of the night.
I understand there's a lot of renovation going on, but come on. For these prices, your basic services need to work. I wouldn't recommend this place.

CAUTION!! BLACK MOLD!!!
Yes, a hotel in Ontario can face serious consequences, including potential shutdown orders, for significant mold issues, as they must provide safe, habitable conditions, and extensive mold is a health hazard requiring professional remediation, not just painting over it. If mold is reported and ignored, guests or employees can contact local health units or the Ministry of Labour, leading to inspections, fines, and mandatory closure until fixed.
Why Mold is a Big Deal in Hotels you might ask…
Health Risk: Unacceptable, extensive mold growth poses a risk to guest and employee health, causing allergies, respiratory issues, etc..
Legal Duty you might consider aswell : Hotels (like landlords) have a duty to maintain safe, habitable, and clean environments, meaning they must fix the moisture source and remove mold.
Further thoughts Unacceptable Standards: The standard for hotels is essentially zero mold, especially concerning types like black mold.
On a very serious note.. What Happens if Mold is Found
Regulatory Action you’re probably thinking: Health inspectors can issue fines and order the hotel to close until the mold is properly remediated.
Financial Costs I am stressed about: Hotels face lawsuits, compensation claims, lost revenue, and negative publicity.
Employee Impact is a very MAJOR concern; The Ministry of Labour can get involved for unsafe working conditions for staff.
SPECIAL NOTE: What to Do If You Find Mold in an Ontario Hotel
Document: Take photos/videos, note dates, and gather any maintenance issues.
Report: Inform hotel management in writing (email/letter) and request professional remediation.
Escalate (If Ignored): Contact your local public health unit (health department) and/or the Ontario Ministry of Labour to report the issue.
Seek Medical Help: If you experience symptoms, see a doctor and get records linking symptoms to the environment.
LAWSUIT!!!!!!
