We stayed here as we were attending a fish / aquarium convention. Its a nice hotel just has some bad let downs.
On Friday evening after we checked in we ordered food. We did want a pizza and were told there were no pizzas available all weekend. Like why not??? You have them on the menu. what dont you have a pizza cooked that works on weekends?? I had club sandwich was I was less than impressed with. When you put tomatoes in a sandwich, you never put the end slices in. Thats the top and the bottom. Well someone did, what you didnt want to cut another tomato to make the sandwich properly, were you that lazy???
We went to breakfast on the Saturday morning. While eating the staff member came over asking if we had vouchers. We said no and were then informed the cost would be 20 bucks each. We were not the only people hit with this. No mention at check in, no member of staff at their little desk to tell you this. Not until after you eat or drink something do they hit you with it. Even then the hot food was not overly hot, more warm and not worth 20 bucks per person! They will try to throw back they are a full service and not express where breakfast maybe included. Well I have stayed in many holiday Inns, both full and express. The last full I stayed in breakfast was included and I will say, it was better!
I asked the front desk what was being served for our convention meal and told them I had allergies, which is why I was asking. You would think they would have mentioned this to the kitchen staff! Low and behold when it came to the banquet, they put onions as garnish all over the shrimp salad and green onions on the mash potato. Who puts onions as garnish on mash potato?? You garnish with parsley, not onions. So another 2 dishes I could not enjoy. I was not the only person with allergies so the hotel failed in this and not considering people with allergies. They also made a cake for our convention party, it was so dense most people did not eat it. It was a powder mix where someone could not read or understand how to make a sponge cake. It tasted awful and I didnt eat it. I feel more sorry for the host of our convention as they put a lot of hard work into making the convention special and the hotel failed to deliver.
While eating our meal they did have a temporary bar for our use. At a cost though, and extra 52 cents on a bottle of beer to save me walking 90 seconds to the main bar. The beer was already costing 8.48 for a bottle of Heineken, they made it $9 even. Very over priced.
The room was nice and spacious, considering we paid over $250 for both a Friday and Saturday night, you would think the breakfast would be included at these prices. Considering we have stayed in other Holiday Inns for less and the breakfast was inclusive even during a weekday. This hotel fails to deliver a great service. Next time there is a convention here, I will not stay in this hotel. We only live an hour away, I would rather not drink and drive saving the cost. This for me was a let down and I am very disappointed with the hotel. The only reason they are getting 2 stars instead of 1 is the room was nice, clean and spacious.

I stayed here for a 3-day conference and had a great experience! Everyone I interacted with — from the front desk to the restaurant and conference staff — was so friendly and personable. My room was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The location was also super convenient. Highly recommend!
