The 19-story Tulsa hotel was the tallest building in Oklahoma when first built, and the only place with ice-cold tap water and rooms with ceiling fans. The distinctive Sullivanesque style, Art Deco-era hotel instantly became a high society hub in Tulsa, the Oil Capital of the World. Oil tycoons such as J Paul Getty conducted business deals in the lobby and celebrity guests such as Babe Ruth, Charles Lindbergh, Lucille Ball and President John F. Kennedy danced in the Crystal Ballroom.
My husband booked a suite more than a month in advance and received a confirmation email, reservation number and check in information, however the hotel had no record of a room being booked when we arrived. Sarah was able to put us in a different room and told us it was a "honeymoon suite". Appreciated as we were there to celebrate our anniversary. The room was good, but not great. Mold in the shower and poorly patched holes next to the mirror where sconces had been removed. It looked like a mid project DIY job.
Kitchenette was fine. Two coffee cups and a Keureg, but no drinking glasses in the suite.
Ample towels, robes were lovely, bed comfortable. The AC was 5/5 stars. Cold air, fan was loud enough to count as white noise but not noisy.
Lobby and bar are absolutely stunning. The rooftop was closed for a private event. We were greeted at the bar but told we would need to order and move to the lobby, again for a private event. A bit unwelcoming to be sent away from the hotel we were staying at.
Overall, I don't think I'd return.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay at the Mayo this past weekend for our friend’s wedding. The building itself is beautiful and within walking distance to just about anything you need, but what really made our stay memorable was the hotel staff. Everyone from our valet driver to the front desk employees to the bellhop were incredibly friendly and helpful. Also huge shout out to Evan at the 1925 bar - you make a hell of a cocktail! We’re already planning a getaway to Tulsa just so we can stay here again.

Have a question on billing and keep getting routed through AI agents which are not helpful at and called me "sugar". Very unprofessional and expect so much more from The Mayo!

We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Mayo recently with beautiful, large & modernized rooms & a restaurant/bar downstairs & even a nice coffee shop as well.
My only complaint albeit minor in the big scheme of things was our room had quite a few maintenance issues such as peeling black duct tape covering the window edges, some peeling paint & only one good wall outlet USB port & the refrigerator couldn't accommodate standing bottles of Wine or Liquor.
The Mayo has a ton of history & apparently some movies/ TV shows were filmed inside including Sylvester Stallones " Tulsa Kings".
All in all we very much enjoyed our stay here & next time passing through Tulsa we won't hesitate to book it again
