We had a great experience at the hotel and exploring the history. We were helped out by an amazing front desk person, named Layne, shoutout to him!

Spent a few nights in room 1015. The room Effie jumped from taking her baby daughter with her from the 10th floor.
Nothing noteworthy to speak of.
The treats served in the restaurant were heavenly delicious.
Will be back but not in room 1015. A king sized bed higher up as so enjoy the gold plated bathroom and a large deep tub roomy enough for two.

My daughter loves allll things paranormal. For her birthday this year, we wanted to stay somewhere notorious for paranormal activity, so we decided to book the Skirvin. We booked in June and had reached out to see if we could reserve a room on the haunted 10th floor. Not only did they accommodate our request, they booked us in the most haunted room in the hotel. My daughter was OVER THE MOON and the nice birthday treats and card were sweet extra touches. This may become our new tradition on her birthday every year.
Also, we had got her some ghost hunting equipment and one being a black light, the room we stayed in was pristine in cleanliness.
The overall vibe of the hotel was so vintage feel and a lot of fun! There is even access to the underground tunnels which was really neat!
During our stay: our room phone rang 3 times and I finally had to unplug it. No one was ever on the other end. I saw a shadow pass across the foot of our bed. At 1:30 AM some other guests knocked on our door because they heard music playing from our room. We were sleeping and clearly not playing music. My husband at one point heard a voice talking over our daughter. He thought it was me but I was just laying there quiet.
Thank you Skirvin Crew for making my daughter’s birthday the best one yet!
We will be back! ❤️

It was okay, nothing overtly special.
The train was *constantly* going back & forth all night long, it kept me awake.
The room was okay, the bed frame I found annoying and it was bigger than the bed and I caught my legs on the corner sticking out, which was very painful.
Than we were checking out the next day, but for some reason the house keeper knocked on our door at 9am (I was still sleeping, but she knocked twice, so I finally just got out of bed).. She asked if we needed anything, than I found it werid, she was still outside our door half an hour later when we came out on her phone.. It kind of felt like she was listening to us talking.

What could be a beautiful hotel is destroyed by vagrants that management do nothing to remove. As I write this, yet another homeless drug addict is harassing patrons of the ice cream shop to the point of sitting at their table demanding money. Still no security removing him.
I love across the street and this is daily. Vagrants and drug addicts hang around outside and pester guests while the security sits inside and allows it. If you want your stay ruined by beggars and drug addicts, this is definitely your place.
I have included photos of just two of the vagrants harassing guests. One threatening people through the window, the other physically threatening guests while demanding money. Security was informed. Nothing done.
