I hate to post this review, but I feel it's necessary. This was my first OCA event, and several members mentioned that it’s been downhill lately due to the quality of the hotel that its hosted in. Unfortunately, I have to agree. I’ve stayed in 10k+ hotels over the years, and I’ve never encountered a hotel without keys and with such poor room conditions. This is a major red flag. I will be escalating this to corporate because the experience was truly disappointing. The event itself was great, and I had an amazing time thanks to the people attending, but the hotel was a huge letdown. The customer service was terrible, and corporate support was even worse. Upon entering my room, I noticed broken lamps, faulty electrical outlets (with most of them not working), and stains on the toilet. The bottom sheet had stains and crumbs, which left me worried about bed bugs or other pests. I tried to make the room look more presentable, but honestly, I was seriously considering finding a different hotel. I had to hide these issues from my fiancée just to keep her from being upset. I’m aware that hotel rooms can be inexpensive, but cheap doesn’t mean acceptable. I wouldn’t mind paying a bit more for a reliable and clean place to stay during events. As a Platinum member with other hotel chains, I’ve come to expect better. I’ll be making sure corporate is made aware of this situation.

The whole overall stay was extremely frustrating. We arrived to check in and waited in a line for over 30 mins, as they only had one person at the desk. Then we were informed we wouldnt be getting room keys, because they ran out. To leave our room, we had to wait at the front desk each time for a maintenance person to escort us to our room. The maintenance guy told us "just flip the lock so it blocks the door open if you need to leave" Absolutely not happening, especially in a sold out hotel. Very unprepared, especially since they knew well In advance that there was a convention being held there this weekend. Then that brings us to the room itself. Overall it was okay, but the pull out sofa mattress was so terrible, basically felt like you were on top of only springs. We asked for a few extra comforters to help cushion it, and were told "we cant find any". Breakfast was OK, although all the bread products were extremely stale. But the cleanliness of the restaurant seating was absolutely disgusting! We stayed 3 nights, and every day the same exact tables were covered in food, sticky syrup and coffee stains. The floor had half eaten food that sat in the same spots for the entire weekend. We wont be returning to this hotel.

We paid for a double and didn’t have a key for the first night on Thursday. The next day we were able to obtain a single key. We were told new keys were coming. Then we were told that the wrong keys were sent. Not quite sure how this is even possible?! It was a huge inconvenience for the entire weekend only having a single key. My roommate and I found ourselves having to stay in close communication in order to back into our room. I appreciate the staff who did the best they could based on the situation but honestly it’s not acceptable.

Maybe the staff should wear hairnet because hair was everywhere, on my pillow in the shower. It was a busy weekend with scrapbook convention. I saw a lot of people ending their stay because the rooms are subpar.

To start off, I had pre booked a queen sized bedroom for 2 nights, but I put it to the option for me to pay at the hotel. When we got there I was not informed that there was going to be a 50 dollar hold on my card on top of the 250 that was originally priced for the room. Although it is not an actual charge it would have been nice to know before paying rather than a lousy small sign to the right of the front desk. Saying that this was a new policy and that it would take 7-10 business days for it to be placed back on my card. Next, when we actually got to the room we inspected it and the bed like any other person would, but we found bugs on the walls, EW!! We call front desk and although they did give us another room, the new room was such a downgrade from what I paid for! The room was half the sized I originally booked for, didn’t have a microwave or a phone to even contact someone from front desk and on top of that the room didn’t even look like it was cleaned. The refrigerator was still dirty. Maybe it was my fault for not looking at the reviews on this place before booking. Usually I am not one to complain but this place is NOT worth the money. Huge disappointment to say the least.
