My husband booked a loft here for 1 night as we planned to visit a friend nearby the next day. We arrived and the grounds were beautiful - I’ll give them that. We initially thought everything was fine, but it was freezing as no heat had been turned on in who knows how long. We got that turned on and noticed layers and layers of dust in the heater vent - nobody has wiped that down in a long time. Upon exploring the bedroom area, I wanted to close the window shades but noticed a significant amount of black mold lining the edges of the window and a thick layer of mold in the corner. We inquired about this but management was dismissive and claimed it’s just what happens in the country due to condensation. This was infuriating because I grew up in a small rural village on 13 acres of wooded property and we didn’t have mold - because we cleaned the windows regularly. Yes certain environments can lead to mold, but you can also mitigate it by cleaning regularly and this had clearly not been cleaned for some time. The light in the living area was also not working. It just felt sort of run down and seemed dirty and poorly maintained. It’s a bummer because it had potential and we were excited for our stay.

The owner texted me the day before my scheduled arrival to tell me she had to cancel my stay. No real reason was given to me other than “a hiccup” came up. My trust with this owner has been violated & caution other prospects to beware.
