  This place was probably one of the dirtiest Holiday Inns I have visited, lots of stains and dirt on the tiles. The staff was rude upon check in, and the sheets were threadbare in a way that made them look mildewed, I did not enjoy that. Would not go back. Did have a bathtub and indoor pooo though.

  This is the only hotel I will stay at while I travel to the Kent area for work! It’s awesome, plus they just remodeled everything so that just makes it even better! The staff is outstanding, ask for a simple thing and they bend over backwards for the guest!

  As I was returning from Marblehead, MA, I was exhausted and in search of a decent place to stay. The Holiday Inn Express was fantastic!! However, I did encounter something very odd while asking if there were any vacancies for the night in question. The young man with whom I spoke refused to book me a room because he maintained that travelers "always" reserved rooms in advance. I made a few attempts to get a room but he was adamant in his refusal. I decided to drive to the hotel and, if I was still refused accommodations, planned to pull a 'Karen' and get a manager involved. I drove down to the Holiday Inn Express, walked in and asked the young lady at the counter if there were any availabilities for the night. She booked me a room in no time at all and with no problem whatsoever. The place looks like it might have been recently renovated. The hotel was clean, very quiet, and the employees all seemed very agreeable. I enjoyed a good night's sleep and the continental breakfast was perfect. This is a nice hotel in the midst of a not-so-very nice area. I had nothing but good vibes and would stay here again if I ever found myself in rural Ohio. Good place!

  The room we rented had comfortable beds. However, I do have a few criticisms. 1. There was not a comfortable place to sit. The chair that was provided with the desk was not conducive to relaxing and the bed was so high that I couldn't easily sit down on the bed. 2. The TV remote was quite difficult to operate. After both myself and my son tried unsuccessfully to figure it out, we gave up. There wasn't even a clearly marked volume button. 3. The soap for hand washing in the bathroom was bar soap. I haven't seen that in 30 years. Most public establishments and private homes offer liquid hand soap. The continental breakfast buffet was very good. The offerings were plenty and varied. I can't imagine anyone not being able to find something to their liking.

  Update: After significant persistence on my part, IHG Guest Relations eventually issued 20,000 points as compensation on the hotel’s behalf. While I appreciate the gesture, it should not have taken multiple escalations and repeated follow-ups to reach this outcome. My wife and teenage son stayed here after a long 7+ hour drive from Canada and were shocked to find that a large portion of the hotel's parking lot was closed for resurfacing, with no alternative arrangements offered. All remaining spaces were full, and staff could not confirm whether parking in undesignated areas would result in towing. As international visitors unfamiliar with local rules, this caused a stressful and sleepless night. What made this worse is that hotel management was aware of the situation but had no plan in place to support guests. I attempted to escalate the issue to the operations manager, regional sales director, and ownership, but none responded to multiple emails. The only person who showed professionalism was Sheila, the Front Office Manager. She followed up via email, acknowledged the issue, and offered a partial rate adjustment. Her empathy and responsiveness were appreciated. Unfortunately, the overall experience left me with the impression that guest concerns are not taken seriously by the property's management or ownership. IHG Corporate Relations has finally agreed to step in to try to resolve the issue after originally repeatedly directing me back to the hotel, which continues to ignore my outreach. Disappointing for an IHG-branded property.
