Black mold on bathroom ceiling, staff was horrible towards hockey teams staying for event… and multiple people with our organization slipped on black ice in parking lot. Messaged holiday inn directly and was told “we cannot compensate you”… i was not looking for money I was looking for the hotel to be addressed on serious issues! Not at all kid friendly

!! $150 Security Deposit on a ONE night stay is ludicrous, especially to a Gold elite member.!!
Rooms are slightly better than average. Front desk was nice and helpful. I'll be staying elsewhere over this.

Absolutely terrible experience — never again.
My family booked this hotel because it was listed as a “stay to play” option for our youth hockey tournament. Big mistake. From the moment we arrived, the staff was rude to both the kids and the adults. I’ve been involved in youth hockey for over two decades, and I have never experienced anything like this.
They managed to take not only our money, but also the fun out of the entire weekend for the kids — which is the whole point of these tournaments. The way they treated our group was unacceptable and completely unprofessional.
And it’s not like the hotel itself made up for it. In our room, the heater/air conditioner wouldn’t shut off and was so loud my grandson said it sounded like a jet engine. The carpet was ripped and created a tripping hazard. One family had to switch rooms because the pull-out couch was stained with who-knows-what, and others were moved because their rooms smelled like someone had smoked in them.
My best advice to the owner: if you can’t handle hosting families and youth sports teams, don’t sign up to be a “stay to play” hotel. You’re doing a disservice to the kids, the parents, and the tournament.
Never again.
If I could leave zero stars, I would.

The ice machine broke and leaked all over the hallway day one. Day 2 they had a sewage leak the floor above us. They rented out the majority of the hotel to 5 different hockey teams for a hockey tournament, so roughly 80 different families... and did nothing to help facilitate their needs and did nothing but complain and argue with them and their kids. Do not come here

This was a comfortable, clean, and enjoyable stay during a trip to Cleveland. Checking in was fairly transactional, and I had to ask for directions to the room since I was just handed a key following ID verification. This was especially needed as the fist ball heads to a different hotel.
The room was spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water and a well functioning AC. The fan was loud on the AC unit which was great for sleeping. Related, the door to the hall and to the adjoining room (another guest) were very thin, and both nights I had the experience of listening to other people’s conversations in the hall, and the TV next door. So the loud AC fan helped me drown out noise. Blackout curtain worked great!
The bed was comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, albeit a bit flat for my preference.
Given the cost of the hotel I was a bit surprised with some of the things I noticed the closer I looked, especially given HI’s reputation. Missing art, missing utility cover, and tub spigot coming off the tub wall with gaps as the caulk pulled away. One of the more notable things was the faucet for the sink. Unless it was turned on full blast it would run onto the counter top and flood the vanity. When fully on I had about 1.5” of room to wash hands without banging my knuckles on the sink back. It was functional, but a quite interesting choice, and rather inconvenient.
Overall, it was fine.
