- ABAsh BeaneApr 20, 20261.0Desk agent April at check-in made repeated homophobic comments ("I don't want people to think I'm part of the gay parade" and comments stating she wouldn't want people to think she encourages any of that) I recognize that this is a rural area and she presumably did not realize I was checking in with my wife, not my gal pal but still.. Seems an odd way to greet guests - I just want my room key, girl! Why did this come up at all? Is that a standard part of your check-in conversation? Also- when we got to room the previous guest's trash was still in the trash can. The bed was made, but the sheets smelled strongly of cologne. Ick! GM Loki was apologetic but unwilling to offer a refund for the stay - saying $40 was the maximum he was capable of refunding, and assuring me that the desk agent meant no harm - that this was a miscommunication. Edited to add- manager Sue contacted me later with a more thorough and satisfactory response. She was professional and helpful during the conversation and did her best to make it right.

It is industry standard to check out in the morning and skip that day's charge, but not here. If you stay 4 nights, you will receive 5 charges, unless you check out before 6:00 pm the previous night. Fortunately, there are other hotels in the area...:-)
