Discounted rooms at this hotel is an advertised benefit for Cleveland Clinic employees, however this is NOT true. As the woman on the phone explained - if the hotel / and Cleveland Clinic can make more money renting rooms at FULL price- that is what will be done. This boils down to NO rooms, EVER available using this POSTED offer. At the end of the day Cleveland Clinic only cares about profit - not caregivers/ not patients. Avoid at all costs.

Disappointing Experience at InterContinental Cleveland – Not Up to Brand Standards As an IHG Ambassador and Diamond member who frequently stays at Kimpton and InterContinental properties, I had high expectations for my visit to the InterContinental Hotel on Carnegie Street in Cleveland. Unfortunately, my experience fell short in several key areas. Upon arrival, the exterior of the hotel presented a promising image, but the room itself did not reflect the same level of quality. The in-room technology was noticeably outdated—televisions lacked modern features, and even budget-friendly brands like Holiday Inn offer more current entertainment options. One of the most surprising aspects was the additional $120 per night fee to access the Club Lounge, even for Ambassador members. This felt excessive and inconsistent with the benefits typically extended to loyal IHG guests. After checking in, I opted for room service, hoping for a relaxing meal. I ordered wings without sauce to enjoy the flavor of the chicken itself, but was disappointed by the taste and presentation. The wings had a strong scent of overused oil and appeared burnt and dry—ironically, I found myself wishing they had been covered in sauce to mask the flavor. The following morning, I visited the on-site café for breakfast and ordered an egg white omelet. When it arrived, it was yellow in color, which raised concerns about whether it was truly made with egg whites. I was told the color was due to butter, which may be plausible, but it didn’t match my expectations based on previous experiences. I ended up only drinking the coffee, which was served in a small pot. To their credit, the staff offered to comp the meal, but I declined and left a $10 tip instead, as I prefer not to accept complimentary items during my travels. Overall, this stay did not meet the standards I’ve come to expect from the InterContinental brand. When I return to Cleveland, I will likely choose a Marriott property, where my Platinum Elite status consistently provides access to amenities such as the club lounge without unexpected fees. I hope this feedback helps future guests make informed decisions and encourages the property to reevaluate its offerings to better align with the expectations of loyal IHG member.
