UPDATE: From 3 to 5 stars
I spoke with manager Carlos and he moved us to a king room with working heat. He was very nice and professional. Customer service is very big for me. He made things so much better.
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
This is my first time in Ohio and I must say that the hotel is very nice. The lobby is welcoming and room is outstanding! So why only 3 stars… Here we go…
I am currently sitting in a bedroom with two beds. When we booked a king size room. Why you ask? Well… Upon arrival, our room was not ready. This was an issue because we came in about three hours late due to our flight being delayed multiple times. Therefore our room had plenty of time to get ready. I was extremely tired and ready to lay down only to find out that we had no room. The gentleman behind the counter offered us free breakfast if we would take a double room. I explained to him that we were there for a conference and the conference came with a continental breakfast therefore, breakfast is not any type of compensation. We would not be able to use it because it was during the conference time. He then offered me the same breakfast three more times. Although I asked him how long the wait would be because I really wanted the king room. Eventually, My Husband gave in and took the double room.
Now I’m in the room that I did not want and it is freezing cold in here. I called the front desk last night to report something wrong with the heat. He said he was told by his supervisor that that heat only works when you’re in the room. This was after I advised that I had turned the heat up as high as it could go and left the room for two hours for it to warm up. When I asked, how do you know if we are in the room or not so the heat will work, he said he doesn’t know that’s what his supervisor told him. He then had a maintenance person come up to assist with that. The heat worked for about five minutes and then went out. Leaving us to freeze all night long. I have health issues and being cold is not good for me. So of course I woke up. Feeling terrible this morning. So I am very unhappy because now I have a breakfast I can’t eat. A freezing cold room. And two beds instead of one king.
Although this is a beautiful hotel. Unfortunately, my experience has not been so great. And when asked what can be done instead of the breakfast, the guy looked at me like a deer, caught in headlights and continued to do nothing. He didn’t even give me the option of just waiting for the room. Or contacting housekeeping and figuring out when the room would be available. Or speaking with the supervisor to see if something different could be done. Or offering dinner instead of breakfast. He may have been overwhelmed, but I was tired and I needed a room with heat. So three stars it is because the room is nice and the lobby is wonderful. I haven’t seen the other amenities yet. But if I decide to venture out and find a warmer spot, I will be sure to update this review.
I don't often write reviews, but the staff at the Hilton Cleveland Downtown was so exceptional that I decided to make the effort. Every person I interacted with during my 5 night stay was not just friendly, but truly warm and outgoing. I felt completely welcome and valued. Unfortunately, I didn't get many names, but I visited the Noshery in the lobby several times (morning and evening), and I had my final breakfast at the Burnham. The staff in both locations deserve special recognition for their warmth and kindness. It is not something you find at every hotel, and it really does impact the quality of the stay. The hotel is lovely and in a great location, but the staff is the key differentiator here.
Arrived on Thursday night and checked out Sunday afternoon. 99% of our interactions with staff were very pleasant. Kaden at valet greeted us and provided a printed list of nearby restaurants. Wayne at the front desk was patient and helpful during check-in.
The room was well appointed on the 32nd floor. Although we were near the rooftop bar, Bar 32, there was no noise as there is a door that leads to the rooms hallway. The room was thoroughly cleaned and well-stocked. It offered everything needed for a comfortable stay.
Food options in the hotel were very good. We had the buffet breakfast in Burnham restaurant on Friday and Saturday mornings. I know I am getting her name wrong, but I am going to try my best- Taneillia was our waitress and she was great. Ryan had great conversation and told us about some cool areas to visit in the area. I didn’t get the morning chef’s name, but he made our chicken sausage to perfection!
We also dined at Eliot’s bar and Fuentes (aka Nano!) was awesome. He handled his tables with perfection. His memory when taking orders is second to none. Sodas are topped up without having to ask. He is amazing at what he does and deserves all good things coming his way! The food was very good as well. We had pizza, wings (delicious!), smash burger, squash soup, Caesar salad (wish they’d stuck with romaine lettuce on this), and wagyu hot dog. Very nice relaxing area to grab a bite with a bar and TVs.
The coffee shop and grab and go area of the hotel is convenient and staff members were nice.
Parking (both valet and self) is pricey at $50 and $60 + tax respectively. I like the text system they have to retrieve your valet-parked car. On our check-out day, no one notified us that the system wasn’t working so we waited for an hour not knowing they’d never received the text. And after a $200 parking bill for 3 days, no one wants to wait an hour for their vehicle.
I would absolutely stay here again if ever in Cleveland. Proximity to football stadium is great. All of our staff interactions were positive and the hotel was nice.
Our stay at the Hilton Downtown Cleveland was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel genuinely welcomed and well cared for. Every team member we encountered from the front desk to housekeeping was attentive, professional, and eager to ensure my stay was perfect. Their warm hospitality truly elevated the experience.
The guest rooms are beautifully designed with comfort in mind. Spacious, modern, and thoughtfully appointed, each detail seems crafted to create a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the lighting is soft yet functional, and the bathrooms are sleek and luxurious. After a long day exploring Cleveland or attending meetings, returning to such a serene and well-designed space felt like pure relaxation.
Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, the Hilton Downtown Cleveland combines style, comfort, and top-tier service seamlessly. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a refined and restful stay in the city.

As a regular Hilton visitor I was disappointed with the service at the restaurant. We arrived in time for lunch and found trays with breakfast service left unattended on benches next to the decor. The waiter tried his best to mitigate the awful taste of the pumpkin soup mixed with sour apples. In general we found staff to be unfriendly as example when I reported a free flowing toilet at the concierge desk, I was told to go report it to the front desk.
