    Clean and I liked the location. The shower was AMAZING with the 3 shower heads! More hotels should have these. Everyone we encountered was cordial, friendly and helpful!

    Unacceptable Management and Poor Customer Service We arrived at voco The Clair Hotel Cincinnati at the posted check-in time, only to be told that our rooms were unavailable because late checkouts had been granted to other guests. The front desk informed us we would need to wait an additional 45 minutes beyond the guaranteed check-in time. When we explained that we had scheduled activities and could not delay, the staff showed no concern and made no effort to resolve the situation. Their indifference was disappointing and unprofessional. When we asked to speak with a manager, we were told none was on site. Even more troubling, the staff claimed they had no way to contact a manager by phone—only by email. Requests for corporate contact information were met with confusion, and we were ultimately given the reservations line, which required multiple calls and explanations before reaching anyone who could assist. By the time we finally spoke with a representative, our rooms were ready—but we had already missed part of our planned itinerary. The representative assured us that the General Manager would call within an hour. It has now been five days, and we have received no communication or follow-up of any kind. This experience reflects a serious breakdown in management accountability and guest service. Granting paid late checkouts while failing to honor standard check-in times is unacceptable and demonstrates poor operational oversight. The lack of responsiveness and concern for guests’ time was deeply unprofessional. We will not return to this property and would strongly discourage others from booking until the management addresses these systemic issues.

    I emailed the hotel hours ago to secure an upgrade, as I’m a Platinum Elite, Ambassador, and Owner. I never received a response. Upon check in at around 3:20pm on Oct 26, with a young brunette who was just beginning her shift (not Morgan - she had no visible name tag), my status was not acknowledged, yet I was offered amenity points or a welcome gift. Finally, I mentioned that I emailed the hotel requesting an upgrade due to my status. That email was never checked and I was given a basic room and told there were no more upgrades available, even though I reminded the front desk receptionist that I had literally just requested an upgrade. As I walked away, I did a quick search on my IHG app and found 5 different rooms that were better than mine that I could book on the spot and were available. After I came back and told the same front desk receptionist that there were multiple rooms available for upgrade, I was finally given an upgrade. Why did this have to be unnecessarily complicated? I took all the steps to make this smooth and yet, it was still a waste of time and a nuisance. Please train your staff better. As for the room, it’s been doused with a strong air freshener, which I hate. The heating/cooling is one of the older ones that are against the wall connected to the outside. A bit dated. Everything else in the room was good. It was clean, nice amenities, and a great bathroom. Unfortunately, though, my first impression as a guest at this hotel was sour and now I’m annoyed. Guests should feel welcomed, accommodated, and listened to.

    I had previously stayed at this hotel under different management and had a horrible experience. The new management and service was great. FOOD: The breakfast was good with great variety and great service. One concern, there was fruit available, but the bananas and tangerines were old and should have been changed out regularly. The dinner menu at the restaurant had variety but was pricey. ROOM: The rooms were spacious clean, and stocked with amenities. The only concern was the daily maid service seemed optional. They didn't clean every day which was fine, but that was not advertised as optional or I would have emptied my own trash. OVERALL EXPERIENCE: I would recommend Voco the Clair and I would stay here again. It was on close proximity to work and food locations. The staff was friendly. The rooms were nice, the showers had great pressure, and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would stay here again.

    I got LOCKED OUT OF ROOM & staff could not let me back in. Staff was awful and unwilling to help. I DO NOT recommend staying here!! This happened because the door's keypad ran out of battery so the key cards didn't work. They had NO WAY to charge it or an override key. They told me the only way I could get back in was to wait in the morning until the maintenance staff came. They offered to give me another room to stay in without my belongings. I insisted to be let in the room because my medications were in there. I overheard the staff say "What kind of medication does she need that is so important?" How RUDE! Why do I have to explain my medical conditions to the IHG staff?!? What if a child got locked in, or a pet, or a flight to catch, or any emergency? I couldn't believe they had no way to open the door and that I was "crazy" one for wanting to go back in. I politely asked the staff to call their manager to see if there was another option because at this point the girl at the front desk kept repeating "there's nothing I can do" over and over. The manager (Vicky or Nicky or M something?) even asked the front desk girl "why did you call me for this"? Like the manager couldn't be bothered with a guest who wants to get back in their room and get their meds. I was let inside the NEXT day and missed work calls in the morning since my laptop was in there. Because I couldn't get my meds, I was unable to function and work the next day which was really bad because this was a business trip. I did get the room comped by a manager (Brad) for only that 1 night but unfortunately I was worse off from my losses $$ from work, physical ailments, and inconveniences. I think I can take legal action because of that and will be looking into it. So attorneys - please contact me!
