  I agree with Chrissy’s review as we had a similar experience. After checking into the Best Western Utica on one of the coldest nights of the winter, we discovered our room had no heat. When we asked about changing rooms we were told the only other available rooms also had no heat. We had no choice but to leave and find another hotel. When we brought the keys back to the front desk we were told there would be no refund. If there is no heat and another room is not available, we should have been reimbursed. Instead, management refused to reimburse us even though no alternative room could be provided. I would never recommend this hotel. It is far below the Best Western brand and is very sketchy in their refund policy.

  Our check-in was fairly straightforward. The desk clerk went above and beyond to make our stay more accessible. The room was clean & comfortable. The breakfast was ok. Nothing special what at least they did have some hot foods. There was a leak in the hallway near our room that appears to have been an issue for awhile. The one disappointment was that someone stole a windshield wiper from our car in the parking lot. No issues with accessibility ♿

  The only good things I have to say about this hotel is it happens to be close to University of Utica and certain staff are quite nice. Otherwise...terrible: 1) room was 50 degrees when we checked in with no heat. We figured out that the heat was shut off and had to call the desk to find out how to reset the breaker to turn it back on 2) bathroom wasn't clean with substances on the back of the toilet and shaved hair on the shower shelf 3) evidence of leaks in the ceiling and several walls of the building 4) the "hallways" are not air tight or heated, so quite freezing 5) walls are paper thin and with people slamming doors to the lobby regularly it was hard to sleep 6) hallways smelled of smoke periodically, so a customer must be smoking illegally 7) parking lot not snow plowed 8) heat has to be set to 90 to maintain a room temp of 70 9) several of the TV channels just didn't work at all, and several more were pixelated and/or lagged 10) breakfast was fine except no tea available 11) a housekeeper came by and offered to replace our towels, but took the old ones and never returned with the clean ones that were supposedly "almost finished washing" 12) towels were small, rough, and showed stains 13) we were not located with our group even though we booked through a 3rd party agent as a group 14) bed sheets were too small for the mattresses so kept coming off at the corners

  Great value for Utica. We were passing through and booked last minute. Lobby was clean, beds comfortable, and staff super friendly. Pleasantly surprised for the price.

  Stayed here on business. Easy parking, fast check-in, clean room, and a good desk setup. Way better than the other options nearby at twice the price.
