  Check in was seamless. The hotel room was modern the temperature was good most hotels to me are either hot or cold this was good. The room was huge. I was shocked with the size of the room The bathroom was really big and the shower was so large it could fit more than one person comfortably. The room was clean. They didn't give us any washcloths or hand towels we called them and they were quick to bring it up. The breakfast was good for a continental breakfast. They had these cheese omelettes that didn't look all that appetizing they looked generic but to my surprise it was very good. They had turkey and regular sausage and the turkey sausage looked like a piece of cardboard but again what a shock it was pretty decent. I walked away satisfied!

  Loved the Hampton Inn with the free breakfast! They are making improvements and I hope they are replacing the windows in the room with sound proof windows. The traffic from the freeway/ highway is very loud and sleep disturbing. They need to also consider slow-closing doors as they slam shut and make a lot of noise.

  I had a horrible experience during this stay that was supposed to be a romantic Valentine’s Day trip. The climate controls in the room were malfunctioning and it was over 80 degrees the entire time we were there. The room phones didn’t dial out to the front desk or housekeeping so I had to walk to the lobby at 1 in the morning to beg for maintenance to come fix it. The ladies at the front desk wouldn’t even call anyone until I looked at their ridiculous card with “instructions” on it and verify that I had tried that first. The instructions consisted of telling me “the temperature is controlled either by a wall thermostat or a window unit”. So helpful thanks. Security showed up 30 minutes later and couldn’t fix it and said they’d have someone look at it after we checked out the next day. I got zero sleep and asked if I could stay a second night in another room at a reduced rate so that I didn’t have to make an 8 hour drive on no sleep. The manager said no sorry we will need to look at the units in the room and verify they’re malfunctioning in order to provide a discount, and that won’t be until later. Oh I’m sorry was the fact that security confirmed it was a sauna and he would have it checked the next day not evidence enough? Absolutely horrible customer service. You have two very disheartened autistic guests who had a crappy Valentine’s Day because of this experience.

  Solid stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Staten Island! Rooms were spacious, clean, and comfy (great beds, microwave/fridge, modern setup—better than expected for the price). Service was friendly and helpful (quick check-in, good recommendations). Free hot breakfast was a nice bonus—waffles, eggs, fresh fruit. Location is convenient—close to Staten Island Mall, highways, and easy NYC access, though not super walkable to much else. Quiet and comfortable overall—great value for a short trip!
