Hotel location was great and walking distance to downtown. I was in town for a conference and I don’t plan on ever returning to this hotel. Bed was poorly made (untucked and wrinkly) and hair stuck to the sheets and every towel. Best part was the dirty band aid on the floor beside the bed 🙃. The lobby is new but the rooms are *extremely* dated- the tub so was warn out I thought it might fall through the floor and the toilet didn’t work. I could hear the people in the next room very clearly through the air vent while in the bathroom.
All of the above I could get over but the reason for this review was the front desk staff on the morning of 11/4. I requested a late check out (12pm) which they were easily able to accommodate and I appreciated so I didn’t have to bring my things to the conference session. I provided my last name so the guy could search my room and he told me he couldn’t look up rooms via last name so he needed the room number. I said that didn’t sound normal and I didn’t want to advertise my room number to a lobby full of men and gave him my last name again. As a women who often travels alone, hotel safety is always a priority. This guy then sighs as he rolls his eyes and says “it’s just easier if you give me your room number.” I cannot imagine it being more than a few clicks to search a 5 letter name vs. a 3 digit number room but whatever. Instead of arguing, I gave him my room number and felt very uncomfortable and truly disappointed by the lack of basic respect and concern for the safety and comfort of people utilizing this hotel. I hope this person is not an indication of Holiday Inns lack of safety considerations. 2 stars for service was for the check in staff who were friendly.
I worked at a hotel for several years and they required yearly training on guest safety procedures including not saying the room number out loud- we pointed to where the number was written on the room card unless a guest requested we read it to them and in that case, we used discretion. Additionally, we did not hand out keys without a photo ID and the name must of matched the name on the room or names added to the room.

This hotel is usually our go to place when visiting Saratoga Springs. Not because we love it, but because it’s the best value if you want to be within walking distance to everything. It might seem expensive for a Holiday Inn, but if you look at the other downtown hotels, $300 a night on a weekend doesn’t seem so bad.
The staff is great and the lobby area is nice. The hotel also has a decent pool and the $18 breakfast is mostly worth it. Worst coffee you will find, but the food was fresh and hot and you won’t find a better deal in town.
The rooms are clean but a bit tired looking. Popcorn ceilings add to the dated look, along with noisy through the wall air conditioners. You can choose between regular and premium rooms. The premium rooms are maybe marginally bigger? We stayed in a premium room the last time and it really didn’t seem like much of an upgrade. Save your money and get a standard room.
The first floor is pet friendly and oftentimes the only floor available if you check in later in the day, so be prepared for some barking, especially if the dog is in a connecting room. I notified the front staff and they reached out to the dog owner to return to their room & look after their barking dog.
Speaking of noise, the hotel is definitely on the noisy side. The connecting doors between rooms are not soundproof and every door needs slammed to close. They could reduce noise in this hotel by 90% if they updated their door hardware.
Parking is free but can get pretty cramped. No EV chargers are available. During our stay, the hotel was booked and we were lucky to find a spot. The parking lot is a bit shabby - basically a large paved over area with roof mounted floodlights that make the property look cheap.
Despite all of this, the location can’t be beat. The hotel has its own staircase to Congress Park, which allows for relaxing evening strolls and scenic walks to downtown, away from traffic. Several fountains are in the immediate vicinity, along with the carousel. It’s like staying at a hotel with its own garden.
