Rooms need work. Bits of the paint from the ceiling were falling off onto one of the beds, and the seal on the AC/Heat unit was shot to the point I could both hear and feel the wind gusting in. The shower was also leaking water from various pieces of the piping like some fairly run down apartments I’ve been in. Got the distinct impression that while the room appeared to look nice, all of the work was just to gloss over the issues. A nice facade painted over an older building. I understand you guys need to make a profit but it shouldn’t come at the expense of my comfort. Lastly, the guy running the front desk fairly obviously checked out my fiancé. You should not put someone at the front desk if they are going to make your female guests feel unsafe. That is unacceptable in my book. Shoddy rooms I can overlook, but if you are a single woman or bringing a significant other, I would consider looking elsewhere. The one redeeming quality was the fact that the hotel is located near a number of good food spots. However, don’t go out and return too late or the front desk guy might cause you to regret having came back to finish your stay.

We were travelling all day across the country, multiple flights. When we realized that a flight delay would have us arriving late, we called the hotel to advise that we would be arriving after 11pm. They assured us that someone would be there and took note of it. When we arrived, the doors were locked. We followed the instructions to press the buzzer to alert the staff to let us in. We pressed the buzzer, knocked and called the front desk (we could hear it ringing) for well over 20 mins. We also called head office and after being passed onto the third person, we were disconnected- with no suggestion other than to wait longer. Someone staying at the hotel finally let us in, which somehow alerted the staff. The person working, came out to check us in and when we told him how long we had been there, he acted like he didn’t care at all. We were clearly exhausted, and upset- but there was no recognition of anything. He kept saying that he was in the back office and can’t hear the phone from there and the buzzer wasn’t working. He didn’t apologize, he acted like nothing was wrong at all. He proceeded to check us in as if nothing had happened. The combination of lack of concern, poor service and awful customer service from IHG was appalling.
