  Worst hotel experience ever. Front desk staff was rude and not knowledgeable. Housekeeping was horrible, they barely cleaned the room at all. In my 10 day stay they came in every day and not once was my floor swept or mopped (wood floor), surfaces were not cleaned or wiped down and their idea of making the bed was to take the existing sheets and covers off, throw them on a dirty floor and put them back on never got a clean sheet the whole stay. Also had to hunt them down everyday as they would never provide toilet paper. There is no phone in the room to call front desk or housekeeping. The in room technology they say they have does not work either. QR codes you are told to use for in room dining just take you to the website where you can read the menus but can not order, still need to call the front desk. Casting on the TV never worked and when I called to inquire the front desk agent literally told me they had no idea what I was talking about even though it is offered on the TV. There is one vending machine in the hotel that has foo foo books and gifts, not a single vending machine for water, soda, juice, snacks. You are forced to buy their reusable water bottles at $10 a bottle and refill them. If you want soda, juice, snacks you need to buy and bring in but dot bring in food because there is no way to heat it. No microwave anywhere, no refrigerator in the room (at least not in the luxury king room I stayed in). Food at Margies was ok at best but service in the restaurant was just as bad as he hotel itself. Rockaway Beach is my home town and I was so excited that there was finally a hotel to stay in, what a major disappointment.

  I absolutely loved my stay at the Rockaway. The staff were friendly and accommodating. The room was extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. The bed and pillows were the softest I’ve ever experienced at a hotel. I absolutely loved it here and will come back!

  My stay at The Rockaway Hotel – Queens, NY From the moment I arrived, the customer service at The Rockaway Hotel was nothing short of exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect. The rooms were immaculate—clean, comfortable, and beautifully designed. Every area of the hotel reflected the same standard of cleanliness and care. What really stood out was the thoughtful welcome gesture: a glass of champagne upon arrival (and apple cider for non-drinkers). It was such a classy, personal touch that set the tone for a relaxing and enjoyable stay. Service staff was attentive, friendly, and always on point. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. The Rockaway Hotel truly knows how to make guests feel valued and welcomed. Highly recommend! An additional note! The front office staff was extremely pleasant BUT Darren McLeod?!?!?! General Manager- Professional, friendly and customer savvy!! That's always a plus!

  Our group had an amazing experience at The Rockaway Hotel & Spa! From start to finish, the staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and taken care of. They were warm, professional, and incredibly responsive to our group’s needs. The rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious, and every meal felt like a treat. Coordinating for a large group can sometimes be tricky, but the team made everything seamless and enjoyable. We left feeling refreshed, well-fed, and genuinely appreciated. Highly recommend for group stays, retreats, or anyone looking for a relaxing getaway by the beach!

  We had the most incredible wedding at The Rockaway Hotel! Our rooftop ceremony was absolutely stunning, followed by a beautiful cocktail hour on the Sun Deck, a perfect reception in the Harbor Room, and an amazing rooftop after-party. The entire experience was seamless from start to finish. I loved that the hotel had everything we needed — a place for our guests to stay and multiple spaces that gave each part of our event its own unique feel. On top of that, we received countless compliments on the food throughout the night — everything was truly delicious! My husband has a severe dairy allergy, and the chef and staff went above and beyond to make sure he was fully accommodated. They were extremely careful about cross-contamination and made sure he was well fed with safe and delicious options, which gave us such peace of mind. There isn’t a single thing we would change. Our Maître D’, Jay, was phenomenal and ensured every detail was taken care of. Maura, Margo, and Erika and all the staff were also incredible to work with throughout the planning process and on the big day. We are so grateful to the entire team for making our wedding better than we ever imagined!
