  If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I stayed at the Rockaway Hotel for my birthday and had an awful experience. There was no heat, the balcony was filthy, and the room was extremely small. On top of that, they had the audacity to charge a $55 amenities fee. When I called for assistance, I was put on hold for nearly an hour and no one ever answered. I came expecting a relaxing stay and left with a headache and a cold. Completely unacceptable.

  The Rockaway Hotel strikes a great balance between coastal luxury and a relaxed, modern vibe. Even for just one weekday, the experience felt genuinely special like a real reset rather than a quick stay. The decor is everything: thoughtful, cohesive, and beautifully done without feeling overdone. Every space feels intentional and calm, which sets the tone for the entire stay. The staff truly stands out. Everyone was super friendly, approachable, and genuinely helpful, especially when it came to recommendations for the area. Darren made sure we had everything we needed during our stay. Their warmth made the stay feel personalized, and added a level of care that enhanced the entire experience. The rooftop area is a standout during the day, particularly as a place to work. Comfortable seating, strong Wi-Fi, and open ocean views make it easy to be productive while still enjoying the setting. The rooms are clean, quiet, and comfortable, and the café connected to the hotel is a great bonus for morning coffee and pastries. Overall, The Rockaway Hotel delivers a polished, well-run stay that feels elevated but unfussy....though still in Queens, our stay felt like a true escape from the city.

  Could there be a more perfect escape from the city? Rockaway hotel is the epitome of summer in NYC. Take the ferry, sit at the pool, grab an excellent meal, and go for a walk in the sand. The bar team at the pool was exceptional, and every meal we had during our stay was great. My kids have been asking me when we are going back for 6 months.

  From the moment we arrived, the service at the Rockaway Hotel has been absolutely exceptional. We’re here celebrating my friend Mackenzie’s birthday, and somehow the entire day has felt like the hotel itself was celebrating with us. Every single staff member we interacted with was kind, attentive, and genuinely warm, but I especially need to call out Greg at the front desk. Greg went so far above and beyond that it’s hard to even put into words. He made us feel welcomed, cared for, and truly special from start to finish. Nothing felt transactional or scripted. It felt personal, thoughtful, and sincere. We also dined at the attached restaurant, Margie’s, and the experience there matched the rest of the hotel perfectly. The food, atmosphere, and service were all incredible and added even more to what was already a special day. Between the spa, the heated pool, the winter room, and the consistently amazing service throughout the property, this stay has been unforgettable. But Greg’s attention, kindness, and genuine care are what truly elevated the experience from great to extraordinary. He turned a birthday trip into a core memory. If you’re considering staying here, know that you’ll be in excellent hands. And if Greg is working when you arrive, you’re genuinely lucky. Thank you to the entire team for such a beautiful experience, and a huge thank you to Greg for making Mackenzie’s birthday so memorable.

  We couldn’t have chosen a better venue for our wedding than The Rockaway Hotel. From start to finish, the entire experience was exceptional. Erika, our planner, was incredible every step of the way — organized, attentive, and truly made the planning process feel seamless. Jason, our maître d’, was absolutely flawless, always making everyone feel happy, comfortable and ensuring the day ran perfectly. Margo was wonderful to work with for our room block/accommodations and was always available for every question and request. Our guests had nothing but great things to say about the rooms and their stay. We also booked a two-bedroom bungalow for the bridesmaids to get ready in, and my husband and I stayed there that night — the room was incredible and the perfect way to start and end our wedding day. The service, food, attention to detail, and overall experience exceeded our expectations. We are so grateful to the entire team and would highly recommend The Rockaway Hotel to any couple looking for an unforgettable wedding venue.
