I am sorry to say that I don't believe the hotel is Intercontinental standard, possibly and older Holiday Inn is more the standard. Bedroom furniture was old and broken, bedding had to be changed as it was dirty and with the exception of the gentlemen in concierge, the rest of the staff very off hand. We allegedly were told (can't find it anywhere) that there was a $40 resort fee, to be used in the bar or laundry etc. You should make in inviting for people to want to spend time in the hotel. This is only my perception, I have full faith that IHG will address what they think is important

My girlfriend and I had a great time staying at the InterContinental this past Friday—it made for a perfect little staycation since we’re already in the city. Getting there was super easy right off the A/C/E line, which was a big plus. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was professional and welcoming, and a couple people in particular made a strong impression—John went out of his way to help with an upgrade, and Jay made check-in feel smooth and genuinely friendly. We ended up in a corner room on the 32nd floor, which was a nice touch. I did expect it to be a bit quieter given the height, but we could still hear some street noise from below. That said, the location is right in the middle of everything—close to Times Square and Broadway—so it’s understandable, just something to keep in mind if you’re hoping for total quiet. Overall, though, we had a really positive experience and would absolutely stay again. Thanks for a great visit!

Overall good hotel in a very convenient spot of town. Something really weird about the breakfast wait / coffee situation though. Their buffet breakfast($48/person) often has a wait and this can be upwards of 15-30 min in my 2 day experience. They also have a big pot of coffee sitting near the bar where many people wait for their table. However there seems to be many rules around this coffee (why?!). This coffee is apparently for an extra charge of $4.50 and not included with the buffet. It’s also only to be consumed with a paper cup. In the 2 days we were there we saw the hostess desks employees get combative with a few waiting patrons over this coffee. The most egregious was the time a little old man was waiting for his table and wanted some coffee but didn’t see any cups, as the hostess hid them in their hostess stand so that they could guarantee to charge anyone for use of the coffee. So the old man helped himself to a glass cup near the server stand and proceeded to pour himself a cup of coffee. Wouldn’t you know it, the hostess saw that and charged over to him to scold him for helping himself and using this cup. It was shocking to see in a “4 star” hotel. I mean it’s coffee! It costs the hotel basically nothing . You have guests waiting a long time, early in the morning for a $48/ person breakfast buffet, the least you can do is offer them a coffee and certainly not make it a combative situation. Something tells me that management is pushing these hostess servers to act this way and make sure anyone drinking that coffee pays the $4.50. Really a shame, because you have a golden opportunity at providing an extra level of service and comfort which basically costs nothing. This is honestly the first hotel review I’ve ever left anywhere, but felt compelled just because how outrageous of a situation it was.

I rarely write negative hotel reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing and honestly unacceptable for the price we paid. For a hotel charging this much per night, the service and overall quality were far below what you would expect from a so-called 5-star hotel. It makes me question how this hotel can even claim that rating. First, there is no swimming pool, which is quite surprising for a hotel in this price range. Second, we are a family of four with two small children, ages 3 and 5. I booked the room with breakfast included, but both of my young children were still charged for breakfast. Children that young barely eat at a buffet and usually only take a few bites. I stayed for five nights and had to pay cash for my kids’ breakfast for three of those days. Throughout our travels, no other hotel has ever charged breakfast for children this young. There is also a $40 daily amenity fee, which supposedly includes a $20 food and beverage credit. On the first day, I ordered a cheesecake assuming it would be covered, but it was still charged and the total came to $28. The whole system feels misleading. Overall, the stay was absolutely not worth the money. There were too many extra charges, the breakfast options were very limited, the Wi-Fi was extremely poor, and the shower took a very long time to produce hot water. Sometimes the water would suddenly turn cold while I was showering. When I checked out, I was charged a bill this large. The amenity fee for 5 nights should be $200, but I don’t understand why I was charged $331. I did not take anything from the minibar. The amenity fee supposedly includes a $20 food and beverage credit, but when I ordered a cheesecake that cost $16, it was still charged to me. I really don’t understand why I had to pay for it. For the price they charge, this hotel is simply not worth it and I would not recommend staying here.

500$ a night and the room was old, carpet was old and broken, plenty of dust, no drinking water available, house skipping average and if you do not tip everyday room won’t be clean and towels won’t be enough for everyone in the room, dirty plates were not taken away after two days in the room. Good location and nice front of the door staff. Would I stay here again? I don’t think so. Unfortunately a very disappointing experience. On the time of check out I have mentioned the issues and the management offered a 10.000 points complimentary for compensation that I have refused as I am not after a freebie I just want a fair treatment and a good value for money. Have better places where to stay. PS I was expecting an email from the management that hasn’t arrived a small touch that could have helped but lack of customers care as they get customers everyday anyway but it won’t be me I can guarantee you.
