This year we had a different room with a smaller bathroom, so we mentioned it at the reception. They immediately arranged for us to move to the same room we had last year. We would like to thank Mr. Kevin once again for his outstanding assistance. The rooms are very clean, and the location is extremely central. All in all, it’s a great hotel in a fantastic location. For our next trip to New York, we will definitely choose the Westgate at Grand Central again. Many thanks to the wonderful team!

My husband and I had an extremely upsetting encounter last night with a bike taxi driver who tried to charge us $300 for a short ride—a price he never disclosed beforehand, even when we asked. When we refused to pay an undisclosed amount, the driver was insistent. In the middle of all this, Matthew immediately stepped in. He calmly pointed out that the driver did not have the legally required signage and was obligated to tell us the price before the ride. Even when the driver screamed at him, insulted him, and threatened him, Matthew never stooped to the same level. He stayed professional, steady, and protective the entire time. Then Chafik ran to get a police officer and returned to stand with us until help arrived. He too was yelled at and threatened, yet he stayed composed and focused on keeping us safe. Once the police resolved the situation, both men continued to check on us and make sure we were okay after such an intense experience. What could have been a traumatic night turned into a moment where we felt truly protected and cared for. I honestly believe God sent these two angels to guard us. Matthew and Chafik are absolute heroes. We are forever grateful for their courage, kindness, and integrity. Highly recommend this place because of people like them.

The location is unbeatable, everything you could want to see or do is right nearby. The room was spacious, beautifully clean, and the bed was extremely comfortable What really made my stay special, though was the staff. From check in to checkout everyone was so friendly, funny, and genuinely welcoming. The doormen were always smiling and added such a warm touch to every day. Having visited New York five times, I can honestly say this is the best hotel l've stayed in. Highly recommend and will absolutely return on my next trip!
- MMMatthew MinickNov 12, 20255.0I want to say thank you to this hotel, as they really helped me on this trip. We booked through Priceline and paid extra for 2 queen beds. Priceline put our room in incorrectly and only booked us a queen bed. We were two bigger guys, so that wouldn’t work. The hotel was completely booked, but they worked some magic and got us into an acceptable room for the night. They then were able to move us the next night to a more accommodating room. Priceline was zero help, and the hotel went above and beyond to help us. The rooms and the location were very nice, and I would definitely recommend staying to anyone looking for a quiet place near grand central station.

I reached out to the hotel and Mr. Ryan to help organize this special moment — and Ryan and his team were absolutely extraordinary. They arranged our room beautifully and made this moment truly unique and unforgettable. Super available, incredibly helpful — I don’t know how to thank them enough, but thank you! I fully recommend this place: perfect location in New York and an outstanding team. Once again, thank you to everyone, and especially to Ryan for your help.
