  We had an exceptional stay at the Westgate New York Grand Central! The hotel is ideally located, perfectly situated for exploring New York. Everything is easily accessible on foot or by public transport, making our stay even more enjoyable. The staff is truly outstanding: always attentive, smiling, and extremely efficient. Every request was handled promptly and with great professionalism. We felt welcomed and valued from beginning to end. The room was comfortable, clean, and very pleasant after long days exploring the city. We highly recommend this hotel and will gladly return on our next trip to New York!

  We spent 6 nights at the Westgate Hotel with my husband while visiting NYC, and we had such a wonderful stay! The hotel is on the smaller side compared to other NYC hotel chains, which makes it feel very personal and truly like a home away from home. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful, which really makes it stand out. The gym is great, the rooms are very clean, and the beds are extremely comfortable. It’s also impressively quiet — you can’t believe you’re just a few blocks from Grand Central, which highlights the amazing location. Metro-North, LIRR, and multiple subway lines are all just steps away. This is by far our favorite hotel in NYC, and we won’t risk trying new places in the future. The design, along with the Gustav Klimt artwork, adds beautifully to the overall atmosphere. A special shoutout to Matthew, who was so kind, friendly, and helpful throughout our entire stay. We couldn’t have felt more welcome!

  Vacances en couple au mois de septembre, très bel hôtel, hyper bien placé , personnel très gentil dont un bagagiste qui parle français si besoin. La literie était super on a super bien dormi. Surtout après tous les kilomètres qu’on faisait dans la ville, je le recommande fortement. Les chambres étaient très belles cosy et très bien entretenue.

  Whatever you do, DO NOT book this hotel through Airbnb. I would venture to say don't even use a 3rd party site. The staff had our names on a printed sheet of "unconfirmed" reservations. Sounds like most of the fault is on the side of Airbnb, but it is wild to me that we are told "this always happens with them", yet you continue to allow them to book with you. We were able to book a room for one night by paying again, but ended up stranded the next as the hotel was full and the staff seemed less than willing to help. On a positive note, the bed was comfortable and the bell hop was a very nice man. Just completely soured by this interaction that ruined our entire weekend. I am begging you to please stop allowing Airbnb bookings to save other people from the tears and cancelled plans.

  I left an amazing hotel in Philadelphia to this so the contrast was real. The destination charge is for a bottled water, wifi and cheap coffee in your room but still $40 a day. The rooms were small, dark and had no view even with me requesting one. The pillows were flat. I could hear the water/pipes in wall. There was so much light coming through the door which was 3 ft from the bed. I could hear people in the halls and bedroom. Could never figure out the TV. Service overall was poor to average. I needed a receipt for work as one was not mailed to me, it took 10-15 minutes on the phone just to get one. I then had to call back 30 min later. It felt weird to chase down a receipt like that. Overall- It didn’t have the feel of a 4 star hotel to me. The best thing was the location and being close to grand central station.
