MERVEILLEUX ! Best Staff across the hospitality industry! If you're looking for a place to be warmly welcome (from the Street level to the top floors) and have the opportunity to fully enjoy Manhattan with all it has to offer with a relaxing room to return to after the excitements: stay at M Social.
I will name some of the wonderful people we had the extreme pleasure to see again: Alvin, Flora, Cesar, Tito, John, Jasper, Merlotte, Sunny (the Chef), Damion, Rita, Lorena ,Johann...please forgive me if I didn't mention you. The room was perfect and prepared with care. Thank you Housekeeping. Everything was perfect.
We wish you All a happy blessed Holiday season.
À bientôt, Laetitia and Christian
No hotel is value focused in NYC and cannot escape the silly resort/destination fee.
If you’re looking for a trendier, average size room this is the place. The main lobby is rather hip & feels like a nightclub. The rooftop deck provides great visuals of Times Square.
Staff is friendly and helpful! Egress/Ingress feels slow and less effective. Only 2 slow, tight quarters elevators are available from street to lobby. The entrance to this hotel is quite discreet.
Room design is very progressive and has many details you’d normally see only in a fashion magazine. They use a nice balance that evokes a trendy dark theme with a splash of color design. Bedding is comfortable as well as a small, yet functional bathroom. They provide higher end shampoos & body wash.
While clean & comfortable & was surprised of some poor maintainence issues such as sloppy toilet caulking & peeling furniture trim.
IMHO Compared to other parts of NYC, the Times Square area is the dirtiest & least maintained. Hold your nose in certain areas. Still it’s a fun place to be if high energy is your thing.
Overall I’d still recommend the hotel because it’s similarily priced. Due note, they have a rather draconian approach to cancelations. Purchase travel insurance if cancelation is a possibility.

We stayed at the M Social Hotel for my daughter's 24th birthday weekend. I made the hotel aware in advance that it was her birthday weekend and they went out of their way to accommodate us with a room on our higher floor with a great city view. There was also a welcome gift of fruit, a bottle of wine and a slice of new york cheesecake. Things like that are really special and show that the hotel goes out of their way to make their guests feel so. Our room was a decent size by NY standards. It was clean and very comfortable. The location was GREAT! It's in the heart of the theater district and within walking distance to lots of sites. I did read several reviews about the smoking scam and when we checked in, I asked them about it. They explained that the rooms have very sensitive smoke sensors, and that people had been vaping in their rooms and setting it off (then getting angry and leaving negative reviews). Smoking and vaping are both prohibited, so as long as you don't do either, you're good! Also, the concierge was SO helpful. He helped us with many things from restaurants to navigating the subway. The ONLY reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the drink prices at the bar are ridiculous. They gave us a ten dollar per day drink voucher, but the drinks were 30 bucks. I get it's New York, but come on. Overall, I'd definitely stay here again.
Had to queue up for the elevator for up to ten minutes each time and stairs were not an option.
Found two metal staples loose in the carpet in our room indicating that the room hadn’t been properly cleaned.
Television didn’t work correctly because it hadn’t been configured and the ability to configure it was locked by the hotel.
Internet was nonfunctional for a third of my stay.
A manager agreed to refund a third of our stay, but since the Internet wasn’t working couldn’t actuate the refund right away.
Three months later and I’ve called them 6 times trying to track down this refund. About a month ago they started saying that the refund was taken care of on their end but AMEX never saw any evidence of that. I suspect incompetence on the hotel’s end rather than AMEX’s considering the incompetence that the hotel has displayed at every other point in this process.
In short, this hotel is completely dysfunctional, understaffed, and incompetent.
