The lobby is nice and the rooms are fairly decent for a low to mid priced hotel. My plane arrived late after a weather delay, I went straight to the hotel to find out that my reservation was canceled. They claimed that they called me when they canceled my reservation at 8:58pm, yet I had no voicemail and was in my Uber at that time. The receptionist was extremely rude and then come to find out there was only one room left… not the king room that I booked, but a 2 queen room - which as a single person I didn’t want. I had to switch rooms for the second day of my trip when I was in a rush to get to an event… the cleaning staff threw out my medicated face wash… great start. I went back home for a few days and had to come back to NYC with my kids… and figured I must have just had bad luck and the hotel was in such a convenient location for the events that I had to attend… I figured I’d try it again… What a mistake. I went online to book again and made sure to verify that there was an updated credit card on file, etc.., well guess what? Came in in another flight that got me and my two daughters to the hotel at 9pm, but this time I verified right off the plane that they hadn’t canceled my reservation.. but they did.. again. I called the kimpton hotels number to try to figure out what happened. I was on the phone for 25-30 mins with the operator as she reinstated my reservation and called the hotel to make sure that I got the same rate, that I had a room, etc. I arrived at the hotel 35 minutes later… they canceled my room AGAIN… The receptionist was so rude. Although the main office had called them to verify my reservation , etc.. no one knew what was going on. Then the same guy from the few days before told me that we were lucky to get our reservation and that it was a corner room, etc… well… it’s not a corner room. It’s on the second floor and it’s BEYOND NOISY. The room rates online don’t include any of the fees, taxes, etc, ok. So considering what was online I thought it was going to be $1250. I got the email for the new reservation, new total $1580. Cool. Then the rude receptionist tells me to put my credit card in and I see $1887 or something like that. So I basically just start laughing at what a joke the whole place is. Then she says - it’s $100 hold for the room. And I said ok - $1500-$1800 is not $100…. And then she says per day… which is fine… but normally hotels show you the folio and explain what they are charging you. The lack of professionalism here is laughable at best. Then she snapped at my daughter after I asked if she had charged the snacks that we put on the counter 10 mins before to our room… and she said yes… and then my daughter took it and she said ‘hey, I need to see what you took’… after she’d already said that she charged it… Ssoooo… STEER CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. We travel a lot. We have stayed all over the world. We’ve been at several kimptons - normally airport or near airport for a day here and there between resorts - and never has one been as much of a mess as this one.

Voy a menudo a NYC y me encanta Kimpton! Es mi nuevo hotel favorito en la ciudad!
