Located in the heart of the city that never sleeps, the Holiday Inn Times Square by IHG offers exactly what many travelers need: a fantastic, unbeatable location. Stepping outside places you directly into the vibrant energy of Times Square, with Broadway theatres, iconic billboards, and endless dining options just moments away. The rooms are clean, modern, and functional, providing a comfortable retreat from the bustling city. While not overly luxurious, they are well-equipped with the essentials, including comfortable beds, which are a welcome sight after a long day of sightseeing. The hotel staff are generally friendly and efficient, helping to navigate the complexities of a New York stay. A notable highlight is the on-site restaurant, which offers a reliable and convenient dining option. For families, the fact that kids eat free is a significant perk. The presence of a pool is also a rare and appreciated bonus for a city hotel. While the prices can reflect the premium location, and the immediate area is perpetually crowded, the value is clear. If your priority is being in the center of the action with dependable comfort and great family-friendly amenities, the Holiday Inn Times Square is a solid and highly convenient choice.

Hotel is in a convenient location. Close enough to walk to Madison square garden, Times Square, stations etc. The rooms are small. Very clean but small. With a family of two teenagers whilst we had enough beds there was very little room for a bag for everyone and walking around the bed. The courtyard out the front of the hotel is mainly used as a smoking area from everyone and anyone that wants to sit there and I found that a put off when you first walk into the hotel. Lobby is also very small. Does have vending machines in the lobby area and also after a certain time you have to swipe your room key to enter the hotel.

We stayed here from November 7 to 9, 2025, in a room with two queen beds on the 25th floor. The location is excellent, within walking distance of Times Square, Penn Station, and many attractions - very convenient for sightseeing. The room was tidy and clean when we arrived, though at 2 PM we were told it wasn’t ready yet and to return at 4 PM (the official check-in time). The bathroom had plenty of towels and Dove products, but it has definitely seen better days. Both mattresses were worn out, with deep dips that made them uncomfortable to sleep on - they really need to be replaced. The biggest issue came on our last morning: we planned to leave at 7:30 AM, but with only one working elevator for a 38-story building, we waited over 30 minutes as several full elevators passed our floor. We finally took the stairs down from the 25th floor. Breakfast was crowded by then, and the food options were limited, though the free hot cider and chips were a nice touch. At checkout (8 AM Sunday), only one agent was working the front desk, so the line moved slowly. The luggage-storage service after checkout was very useful, and the bellman was friendly and helped us store our bags efficiently. The room size was small but expected for NYC, and the view was better than expected, with a partial look at the Empire State Building. Unfortunately, the noise level was high: thin walls and old windows meant we could hear traffic and sirens clearly, even on the 25th floor with windows closed. The heater/cooler unit seemed decades old and released a burning-dust smell when turned on. Staff were trying to be helpful, though somewhat indifferent overall. A housekeeping knock at midnight offering towels we never requested was also unwelcome - luckily, we were awake, but our kids were asleep. Overall, a mixed experience: great location and friendly bellman, but aging facilities, poor soundproofing, and elevator issues made the stay less comfortable than it should have been.

The worst! I chose this hotel because I recently stayed at one from the same chain in LA, and it was wonderful. First of all, I was with my teenage daughter in the morning after 20 hours of travel (and a sleepless night). Maybe I didn’t look attractive, but while waiting for check-in in this tiny lobby, it was embarrassing how the security looked at us — judgmentally, like we were thieves. They could have just asked why we were sitting there or offered to store our luggage and suggested we go for breakfast or a walk. I felt like an intruder and like crap. We got the room 2 hours earlier (thank you — what a relief, finally a bed). The rooms are nice and clean, bathrooms too. Dove shower gel and separate shampoo, lots of towels. It was my child’s first trip to NYC. I paid for a room with a view (see photos). Disaster. The only reason I booked this type of room was because my kid couldn’t enter the rooftop bar, and since we had a daytime city tour, I wanted her to see the city lights at night (especially since it rained our whole trip). They cheated us. I wrote an email — no response. There are much better hotels in the area, with better elevators, similar prices, and friendly staff. The whole trip was ruined. Finally, the last “attraction” for my child — a yellow cab ride. We ordered it at the reception. The paper receipt said $85, but the woman charged $95 on my card, and of course there was also a cash tip. A scammer. And the best part — the taxi was white... I don’t recommend this hotel, but I do recommend the neighborhood.
