3 elevator for a building with 40 floors!! Ridiculous wait time, I had to take 11 flights stairs with my heavy luggages. Other than that, housekeeping service is superb.

Stayed there for 3 days in December. Place is overall congested. Always had to wait for elevator. The room was just enough to fit the bed. Some of the staffs were rude. No microwave, refrigerator in the room. Not a great place for the price and name. Have stayed in much better 2 and 3 star places than this. The only good aspect was view from the room which I have attached below.

I had horrible experience in check in.. there is no reception at the main floor. The hotel was crowded like hell and waited 15min to get on the elevator. Staff is super unkind. People said in the hotel , they cant catch their events because of the elevator issue. I got hurt in the gym and asked the receptionist for ice. My foot was swallowed and extremely bruised. I hardly move myself to lobby. She even didnt ask if im doing ok. She said its not broken go get ice. Honestly , my first time in NY was horrible experience. I even dont talk about the rooms , way expensive too small and dirty.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience. There is no parking available, which is a major inconvenience. I had to wait a very long time for the elevators, which was extremely frustrating. Additionally, there was no TV remote in the room, which is unacceptable. Overall, the service and comfort were poor. I do not recommend this hotel at all.

I stayed at DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown from Nov 27–30, and what was supposed to be a relaxing vacation for my husband and me turned into a very unpleasant experience. I have already emailed Hilton directly but received no response, so I’m posting this here for transparency.
The worst part of our stay was the elevator situation. We waited over 20 minutes with no sign of an arriving elevator and ended up having to walk down 30 floors with all our luggage. It was exhausting, unsafe, and absolutely unacceptable—especially for a hotel claiming to be 4 stars.
Amenities were far below average. The room only had basic toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, soap, lotion). No bottled water was provided even when requested. The tissue in the bathroom was already used when we checked in, and housekeeping never replaced any tissues, even after we ran out completely.
Service was disappointing overall. Staff didn’t seem friendly or welcoming. Our toilet door wouldn’t close properly due to a large gap. The rooms were also not soundproof at all, and we could clearly hear crying babies and conversations from neighboring rooms.
Overall, this stay fell far below what anyone should expect from a DoubleTree by Hilton. Very disappointing experience, and I hope the hotel seriously addresses these issues for future guests.
