I hated the service at this hotel. For three days straight, one of the elevators kept getting stuck with people inside — the first night, my friends were trapped in it. We went to the lobby for help, and they said they had done everything they could, which was calling the elevator company (they never showed up). After 40 minutes, we called 911, and the firefighters arrived within minutes.
After that, we decided to only use the other elevator, which meant waiting about 10 minutes every time we wanted to go to our room or down to the lobby. Overall, our experience was the worst.
Also, they did not clean our room one day, and we left at 11 am.

CERO stars!!! Terrible service, the worst experience I’ve ever had. We got stuck in the elevator for over 40 min and NONE of the hotel staff did anything about it but calling the elevator company (which obviously never arrived) we had to take matters into our own hands and call 911!!! They came to help ASAP, then the hotel didn’t respond and also only offered to refund one night, when we stayed 4 and the elevator stuck almost every day. DO NOT STAY HERE !!!

There were two good things we experienced: check out and location. I mean by that hotel is located really great. Midtown Manhattan, you walk almost everywhere if you are willing to. Another thing is that room had bad heating, it crashed during night so we had really cold in room, than waited few hours for unsuccesful repairing so they finally changed our room. The stuff was unprofessional in a really bad way: while I was complaining abiut cold in our room (with my pregnant wife) stuff around were laughing at us because the knew us already (we were there at the reception more than six times). I really don’t recommend this hitel If you are finding average quality at least.

Stayed here for 4 nights at DoubleTree by Hilton New York City - Chelsea and it was a reliable, enjoyable pick — easy 4 stars overall.
The location is excellent (5 stars): at 128 W 29th St, right in the Garment/Flower District bordering Chelsea and Midtown — super close to Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Empire State Building (short walk), Macy's/Herald Square, and major subway lines (1/2/3, B/D/F/M, N/Q/R/W nearby). Easy to get around the city or explore Chelsea's vibe, shopping, and eats without being in the thick of Times Square chaos. Perfect central spot.
