There are only two positives about this hotel. The location, which is right in the heart of New York midtown, walkable from Penn Station, Madison Square Garden, Empire State, Times Square. Can't beat that at all. The other positive is the friendly staff who try their best to make things work. Other than that, the quality of rooms and the overall facility is absolutely pathetic. This is a rundown 2-star facility which somehow passes off as a Doubletree. Hilton, you've got to be serious! Rooms are old, rundown, with a moldy odor. Passages are narrow and I would stop an inch short of calling it shady. In my room, both sink and shower were badly clogged and took 20 minutes to drain out. The service staff handled it promptly. But why should such issues occur in the first place? Elevators are slow and glitchy. Your selected floor gets de-selected randomly and you get a free ride through all the floors. Note to Hilton and the franchise owner at this location : You've got to be kidding if you run this place with the Doubletree branding I have seen better quality of rooms in 2-star motels. Not staying here again.

We have two rooms here for my nephews wedding. One of the rooms has no water. They could not come fix last night so my boys had to shower last night and this morning in our room. I would cancel for the rest of the week if we were not busy with wedding stuff and had the time to move and find a room elsewhere. Hairs on the floor, and very small. For 5 nights and $4500 you would think the shower would work.

Spent 4 days 3 Nights here 😊✨ Things I appreciated: There are only two — I was able to check in earlier than expected, and the check-in process was quite fast. Also, I was allowed a late check-out for 2 extra hours. However, the bed was not king-sized, and my legs were hanging off the edge (kind of funny). I was placed on the 7th floor, and I understand the hotel is pet-friendly — but barking from nearby rooms every time someone walked by was very annoying. The hotel should clearly separate pet-friendly areas. The elevator was slow, hallways were narrow, and housekeeping carts often blocked the walkway. The room was small, the hair dryer didn’t work, and most of the items in the room were old. Considering the room’s condition, the price, and that this is supposedly a 4-star hotel with good reviews, I really couldn’t believe this is what I got. The location is convenient for walking to nearby food, but the smoking area right in front of the hotel was unpleasant — I felt like I was being smoked instead of getting fresh air. If I could give 0 stars for the room, I would. I hope my feedback helps improve things, but I won’t be returning.

We recently stayed at the DoubleTree for four days and three nights. The location is perfect (for tourists)—right in a very lively part of the city, within walking distance of endless restaurants. The hotel experience itself was only okay. There were only two small elevators, so waiting times could be significant. The rooms were small, which is understandable for a New York City stay, but the bedding would be my only issue. My main feedback is about the bed: it was advertised as a KING but was, at best, a larger QUEEN-size. The mattress was comfortable, but it clearly overhung the frame (a queen frame with an oversized mattress). Additionally, the pillows were flat and quite uncomfortable. On a positive note, the staff were truly great. They were very accommodating with holding our luggage both before check-in and after check-out. A special shout-out to Julian, who was particularly helpful with our luggages. Overall, I would recommend this hotel primarily for its location and competitive price point in the area.
