  Stayed here for one night after walking around NYC and then coming to visit a friend's family. Room was clean, bed was comfortable and the staff was super nice. Breakfast was good, the waffle maker was pretty sweet. I miss no frills lodging like this. It isn't common anymore!

  We stayed here for a last-minute trip to Long Island. The room was comfortable, with a comfortable mattress and pillows. The room and grounds were kept up well. However, there was an issue with communication. We checked in on a Thursday and checked out on a Monday. We had housekeeping come in on Friday morning. Housekeeping didn’t come in on Saturday. Saturday night, we went to the front desk and the person we spoke to wasn’t very friendly. (Quite rude actually). We asked if we could have more towels and inquired why housekeeping didn’t come today. She said that long stays don’t get cleaned every day. She went to get the towels and came back, but she didn’t explain what qualifies as a long stay when asked. (We were only staying for four nights!) She then told us that they were so busy because they were fully booked that they had to clean all of those rooms so they could book more. Then she looked at the paper and said we were on for Sunday housekeeping. Okay so what is the reasoning? We have two different reasonings here. Meanwhile, we were almost out of toilet paper, out of tissues, and towels. Sunday morning, I came back to the room in the morning and there was still no housekeeping. I went downstairs to the front desk and asked, but they said they weren’t sure what happened. They said I was on for today. They ended up coming later in the late morning/early afternoon. Overall, the stay was great, but the housekeeping issues with the front desk were frustrating. Most of the staff were friendly and nice, besides that one individual.

  Been here 3 times over the past year and a half. Always been very nice. Staff really good. Breakfast is solid. Highly recommend.

  Rooms are nice and comfortable. Good wifi but no cable tv. Breakfast was okay but limited. Showers were nice until someone turns on the water in the hotel and then pressure drops until the main catches up.

  Want to stay at Best Wester Bar Harbor in Massapequa New York? Warning!!!Don't!!! On Monday March 16, 2026, my fridge stopped working and all the food went bad. It was approximately 8pm. I called the front desk who said she would reach out to the manager but she couldn't make any promises because the manager was off until 9am(3-17-26) The front desk worker came to my room and said the manager could offer me a bagel and a yogart. I have Stage IV Metastatic Cancer. I told her it would not be a sufficient meal and explained my condition. I told her that all the food in the fridge could not be eaten. I told her the fridge and the contents were warm. I handed her some of the food and a beverage to show her. She said she could move the contents of the fridge to the office fridge. She said the food would be fine to eat. Explained that I could not eat food that was warmed to room temperature and cooled again. She said she was sorry but that they gave me an offer. Explained that a bagel and a yogart was not a viable offer. She was not at all concerned when I said I was calling customer service. So I did. Customer service took the information and gave me a reference number. After putting me on hold and calling the front desk he came back and said nothing could be done until 9am tomorrow when the manager was there. I asked what I should do about a meal tonight. He said he was sorry but I would have to wait to speak to the manager in the morning and maybe they would offer some sort of compensation. So in the meantime I had to order a meal and have it brought in. Odd. Why didn't the hotel make that offer? The moral is: Stay away from the Best Western Bar Harbor in Massapequa New York, especially if you a Stage IV Metastatic Cancer Patient. "The response is a total lie. Manager never checked the food as it was disposed of before 9am the next day when she came to work. It was substantially more than a 1/2 eaten meal. It was a fridge full of food. I hope that she or her friends or family never have to change places with me and experience the same humiliation and injustice. A genuine apology not negated by "but", goes a long way."
