  A delightful stay overnight -- personable staff, well-cleaned room (though definitely showing a little wear), and (perhaps coincidentally) we had multiple pleasant interactions with other guests. Breakfast offered diverse options and was well-prepared -- the staff kept the space clean (despite some very messy kids/adults during the rush) and the food trays full!

  The front desk staff was shockingly rude and disrespectful. She spoke in a very offensive manner and showed no professionalism at all. This was one of the worst front desk experiences I have ever had What made the situation even worse was that the staff spoke to me in an irritated and angry tone, saying that they had no IHG information and that I should not talk to them about it. The way this was said was extremely rude and unprofessional. At that point, I honestly just wanted to leave the hotel immediately if a refund had been possible. Breakfast was shockingly limited, with boiled eggs being the only thing available to eat. This is far below what should be expected from a hotel.

  The hotel was far below expectations. The furniture is extremely old, worn out, scratched, and completely unsuitable for a hotel. The floors are outdated and clearly need maintenance, and the furniture urgently needs replacement. This is the first hotel where I felt compelled to leave a review within the first two hours of arrival. The most serious issue was the unbearable smell in the room. We tried to tolerate it, but after an hour and a half we had to request a room change. The odor was so bad it smelled as if an animal had urinated on the carpet. A very disappointing experience. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it. We stayed at this hotel in Montreal before, and it was completely different and a much better experience overall.

  Extremely Disappointing Stay – Serious Safety and Management Issues As a traveling doctor, I stay in hotels frequently, especially the ones that have that "home away from away from home" vibe and have never experienced the level of incompetence I encountered at the Staybridge Suites Syracuse/ Liverpool location. The most alarming incident occurred when another guest scanned their key and walked directly into my hotel room. The woman was just as shocked to see me as I was to see her. Shortly after, the front desk called to explain that when I checked in, they failed to officially assign me to the room I was given, resulting in two guests being checked into the same room. Instead of relocating me or properly resolving the situation, they simply added my name to the room and reissued keys, after the safety breach had already occurred. This was completely unacceptable. The issues didn’t stop there. Wi-Fi Problems: The Wi-Fi barely worked during my stay. Initially, I couldn’t even log in because the system required a last name and room number, which makes sense, considering I was never properly added to the room in the first place. 🙄 After going to the front desk, I was informed there was also an access code required, which I was never provided at check-in. Once added, the Wi-Fi worked sporadically at best. Checkout & Billing Issues: Given the experience, I made sure to check out at the front desk personally. I was told my receipt would be emailed to me, it never arrived. I called later that evening and was assured it would be sent within 30 minutes. It is now the following day, and I still have not received it for my records. This stay was frustrating, unprofessional, and frankly concerning from a safety standpoint. Proper room assignment, secure access, reliable Wi-Fi, and basic billing follow-through are fundamental expectations. Unfortunately, this location failed on all fronts. I would not recommend staying here until significant improvements are made in staff training, communication, and guest safety procedures.

  An excellent stay at this location! Jennifer checked me in and was truly wonderful when it came to correcting a room mix-up. She was professional and incredibly hospitable. The rooms were clean and the breakfast was 10/10. The hospitality here from start to finish was lovely. Will definitely stay again when I'm passing through.
