I had the privilege of spending a weekend here. The service at Edgewood was exceptional, Jim and Glen were awesome and made our night very memorable. I will absolutely be coming back!

My company just had its retreat there, and the place is truly spectacular. The setting is dramatic and they've been very thoughtful about all the interesting historic details, from the pavilion to the masonry details in the restaurant to the cabins. Everyone was very impressed.

Beautiful property. Excellent event space with parking. Terrible as a hotel. A joke, really. Hotel guest parking is on the opposite side of the property from the cabins. It's not all paved, so enjoy lugging your bags uphill through gravel! The walking paths to the cabins also take circuitous routes, so there isn't a very direct path from your room to anywhere. Signage on the property is severely lacking. It's easy to miss that the check-in building is on a completely different turnoff from the main road as the grounds where the cabins are. That's right - check in and out at the top of the hill that can't be accessed by vehicle from where you are sleeping. Staff have golf carts to get around, but I never once saw any of them offer to help guests cart their belongings. At checkout, I made the long trip to the parking lot 4 times and never saw anyone who might help. Rooms have no TV. There was an old turntable and a few records, but the needle was trash, so that wasn't an option, either. A/C remote only works when pointed at the unit, yet the remote is mounted around the corner. The best room feature is a heated bathroom floor. Can't even use the fridge in the room because it's for an overpriced minibar. The 'ruins' on the property is a modern structure. Pretty, but calling them ruins is disingenuous. Path lighting at night was also an issue. Some areas were pitch black and required a flashlight to stay on the path.

Just putting this out there in case someone is researching weekend getaways near NYC. Service and hotel is great, but don't bother with any of the packages offered; it's a waste of money. Our package included a sauna session, s'mores, and delivered breakfast pastries. Sauna reservation seemed silly, given that there's no one there to actually check you in to the sauna or make sure you leave. It also took an hour for it to actually get to the right temperature. Bring your own s'mores; anyone can use the firepit. And they never delivered the breakfast pastries (even though I texted the staff multiple times). If you want to have breakfast with a view, take a five minute drive to the local Half Moon Rondout Cafe, buy their excellent breakfast sandwiches, coffee, and apple cider donuts, then bring them back to eat at your cabin. Save your money, and don't buy any extras this business offers. 10/22/25 Update: The business reached out to me, apologized for my experience, and issued me a partial refund. I updated my review from one to four stars, and do sincerely feel that the rooms/service/location all warrant five stars, but would rate value at 1 star if I could given my previous review. I shared my feedback with the business and hope they improve their amenity offerings, particularly food options, in the future.
