I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton JFK for one night since I had an early flight out of JFK the next day, and it was a great experience from start to finish.
Customer service was excellent. The staff was friendly, professional, and very accommodating. I really appreciated the FREE airport shuttle service, which made pickup and drop-off to JFK quick and stress-free.
The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly what you want for an airport stay. As Hilton Diamond members, we had breakfast included, and the service there was great as well. The food was fresh, and the staff was attentive.
And the best part, the warm, welcoming chocolate chip cookie at check-in. Such a small touch, but it really sets the tone and makes you feel instantly welcomed.
Overall, this hotel is very convenient, well-run, and perfect for anyone flying in or out of JFK. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it.

A great hotel to book ONLY if you are in transit at JFK airport. Rooms, service and location are all top notch. Reduced 2 starts from overall rating due to 2 reasons.
First, the front desk (surprisingly) told me that tap water is not safe to drink. Then they sell you 50 cents 500ml Dasani water bottles for 5 USD each. Paid 25 USD just for 2.5 litres of water (seems like a scam).
Second, for a transit hotel, they neither have a concierge desk nor do they have any luggage cart available. So be better prepared if you have to carry a few bags with you.
A good thing was the 24 hours JFK drop shuttle that runs every 30 min and has great and helpful drivers.

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at DoubleTree by Hilton New York JFK Airport.
I waited nearly 45 minutes in line just to check in for a stay that was less than five hours, due to an early-morning flight. During this time, someone cut the line and was allowed to proceed ahead of multiple waiting guests because they were a Hilton Honors member. While I understand loyalty programs and perks, this process was handled poorly and left non-Honors guests feeling that our time simply did not matter.
If Hilton Honors guests require expedited service, there should be a separate, clearly defined check-in process. What is unacceptable is forcing all guests to endure an excessively slow line, only to then prioritize others mid-queue.
The front desk staff appeared disengaged, tired, and frankly rude, which only compounded the frustration. The check-in process was painfully slow and inefficient, especially for an airport hotel where many guests are on tight schedules.
To be fair, the room itself was nice, and the location is excellent for JFK access. Unfortunately, those positives do not outweigh the poor service experience.
When I asked to speak with a manager, Alicia, the manager on duty, was downright rude, unhelpful, and lacked basic customer-service manners. Rather than de-escalate or offer solutions, her attitude reinforced the sense that guests’ time and concerns simply do not matter at this property.
To be fair, the room itself was nice, and the location is convenient for JFK. Unfortunately, those positives do not come close to compensating for the poor service and lack of professionalism.
This was a really horrible experience, and I strongly recommend not staying here. I frequently stay at Hilton properties and have used Priceline for years, but I will never return to this particular hotel.
I was traveling with 3 kids, all under 5 and one of them is 7 month infant. I called multiple times to make sure the shuttle will be provided and would call me to come outside when it is at the federal circle outside the airtrain station so the kids don't have be waiting below freezing weather where there were weather advisory on a windy night. Check 19th night and 20th early morning for reference. It was 1 am and they had me wait for more than 30 minutes bouncing back and forth from multiple employees on phone. When I spoke to the supervisor she told me that she will give us complimentary breakfast without solving the problem at hand and then when I tried to explain again she offered me late checkout, again not sloving the problem. Both of what she offered was useless anyways to me and my family.
On top of that the towels were dirty with stains.
Families beware.

I’ve stayed at this Hilton multiple times. The location is great for early flights out of JFK. This is the ONLY Hilton where my room always has a booking issue. I book through my job and travel monthly. I stay at hiltons frequently. Half the time I come here, they say my room isn’t paid for and can never explain why. They want me to fill out a credit card utilization form each time but my work pays 3rd party before I come. I have zero issues all over the country and every time I come I have to pay out of pocket.
I want to say, I truly love the entire valet staff. They are the best and so so personable. The inside staff is always so rude and never has an answer to any question. They constantly say “I don’t know” and act like you’re bothering them. It’s best to just check in and figure everything else out yourself. Tonight I tried to call front desk and it took 30 min of trying before they picked up and sounded annoyed even answering.
The rooms are comfy and clean.
I may start staying at the Marriott across the street to see if they are nicer and if my arrangements work.
