This place is filthy. Did we suck it up for the kids, yes. Would I ever stay here otherwise, never.
The staff needs training, although somewhat polite its absolutely too casual.
Hair in the bathroom, left over tissue on the floor in the bathroom, the minifridge was filthy, the lego figures were absolutely covered in old, grimey dust.
The breakfast service was appalling and the lack of info by front office short of expectations. I left a bag of trash outside our door which was left for over 5 hrs.
We checked in late and was told we could get food and rushed down at 9.30pm to bring something back to the room but was told we could not get anything so we had to wait another hr to get something ordered from the outside.
I am the Director of Housekeeping at a Manhattan Luxury Hotel and this is just not up to standard.
Just spent a wonderful night here with the family - 4th floor Pirate room. Lots of things to love that many others have mentioned but here's a few constructive feedbacks -
1. Consider including a themed nightlight in the bunk bed area, especially since the hotel caters to families with younger kids and can get dark in the rooms.
2. We loved the complimentary gifts (lego sets, magazines, waters & juice) BUT maybe not 3 ENTIRE bags of gummy bears because not all kids (and their parental units) have the willpower to hold off consuming all of it immediately.
3. I have to admit that the welcome treasure hunt was a bit tricky, even though I'm usually good at escape rooms... luckily the text messaging service was very quick to provide a hint!

I truly can’t say enough good about this hotel. I was unsure about staying here because it is a little more expensive than staying off site. I decided to just go for it and I can honestly say it was worth every penny. The hotel is walking distance to the park which is a huge perk with young kids. Everything is fun and colorful making it appealing to kids (and even adults). You are immediately excited about your arrival pulling up because of the amazing Lego display entrance. It is mind blowing what can be built from Lego’s! Upon pulling up the staff was incredibly helpful offering help with bags and tips to make the experience just a little bit more magical. I won’t ruin the surprise but even the elevator has fun elements to it (tip: clap your hands for added fun in the elevator). All the staff was so wonderful, kind, helpful and going above and beyond for everyone. They have fun activities in the lobby- crafts, a scavenger hunt (with an extra special treat for completing) and even being able to hunt for Mr. Gold. Even when my son was being a bit shy to ask the staff was so great at interacting with him. Of course tons of legos for building and playing in the lobby and a giant castle for playing. Somehow with all the kids and legos they were able to keep the area maintained and clean- and impossible job I’m sure! All around the hotel are life size figures completely MADE OF LEGOS. We stayed in a pirate theme room and it was BEYOND cool. I loved the three layered bunk bed. Even the carpet was pirate theme. Inside the room they have another treasure hunt where you answer a couple questions to get numbers to unlock the safe- inside the safe is a fun surprise for each of your kids. They also provide a juice box for each kid and water bottle for each adult. I thought this was a very sweet touch. On the tv in the kids room, it looked like a live feed of the hotel hallway and Lego pirates walking around. The kids LOVED it and wanted to watch it. They provided easy access to all the Lego movies on the tv as well. We were sure to check out all the floors to seethe fun ninja, friends and kingdom themes as well. The lobby also plays lots of fun, upbeat and kid friendly music but it is very quiet in the rooms (and I’m a very light sleeper). In addition, there is a number you can text “the wizard” that can help solve any issues- such as bringing more pillows. They give you fun wizard responses too. I thought it was really cool that the elevators would not move unless you scanned your room card key too because it kept kids from running off on their own. Unfortunately, we came on off-season so the pool was not open but we looked outside and it looks so much fun. They have fire pits that can be used and s'more supplies that can be purchased. Lego truly thought of everything. Everything throughout the hotel and room was clean and well maintained.
The breakfast was nothing to write home to- a standard hotel continental breakfast but served family style which is nice with multiple kids. Tater tots, breakfast meats, toast, cereal, fruit, eggs etc. you can get some other fun things like funfetti pancakes for an up charge. They didn’t forget about adults and have yummy specialty coffee and even cocktails (mimosas and a “special” coffee!!!) I would stay here again without hesitation.
I want to reiterate again the staff was absolutely AMAZING. Every single person we interacted with
TLDR: STAY HERE!!! It is worth every single penny.

Just more disappointing every time I come here. The whole idea and theme is great, but the execution is miserable. Prices for the rooms are ridiculous. Maybe worth it once for kids to get the experience, but the subsequently, years later it's exactly the same, not worth coming back. The scavenger hunt is half assed. Good luck figuring out which direction the numbers should go and where they should be aligned. Kinda kills the experience if evertime we have to spend time trying every combination of directions and set points.
Bricks restaurant is disappointing. Food choices are limited, which is fin for kids, but adults get basically the same thing super sized. Staff is mediocre. You have 3 tables and food comes before the drinks and I have to come up to you to ask for a check, really? The menu is like 4 items, its not that difficult. After reading the reviews not looking forward to the breakfast... But thanks for pointing out I can keep the plastic cups I guess...
Came with 3 kids, obviously the bunk beds are great... But they put the third pillow into the top shelf in the closet.. into like 1/8 inch layer of dust. I knew it was gonna be the case as soon as I saw it up there.
Used to give Lego themed bottles for the consumables, those are gone, just generic glued pump bottles. Towels are out of a prison. The fitness center is a joke. It's a triangle room with just enough space for a bench, weights and two threadmils. It's just not worth staying here anymore, you're gonna get plenty of LEGO in the park itself. Stay somewhere else.
If you wanna put kids to bed and go down to shop or to have a drink to unwind, good luck. The store closes at 9, the bar usually at 10. Staff screwing around in the lobby. That's the theme throughout the park as well. The parking attendants were screwing around, missed 3 cars going by then trying to run behind them. The store staff at the park screwing around while I'm just trying to check out and leave... right in front of them. Bunch of the rides are half broken. Staff is not doing much to keep things moving. Feels like a traveling carnival with a Lego theme sometimes to be honest.
So much potential, wasted by mismanagement.

The staff are delightful and you can’t beat the location to get to the park. However, though the hotel is a few years old, it’s showing its age. Bathrooms have chipped paint and water/condensation damage (there are no fans in the bathrooms, so not a surprise) and decorative pillows/covers have pulls and stains. We also found long black hairs on our sheets and pillows (we all have short hair). For what you pay for the hotel, I would expect it to be better maintained after being open for just a few years. We love LegoLand and have stayed at the hotel for the past three years, but it may be time for us to move to another hotel for our next trip.
