I stayed at the Best Western Queens Court Hotel in Flushing during the recent snowstorm because it was unsafe to travel and I was with my 8-year-old child. What should have been a safe place during a difficult situation turned into one of the worst hotel experiences I have had.
From the beginning, the front desk staff was extremely rude and unprofessional. On one night, the employee tried to charge me $177 directly for a room that was about $102 online. When I booked through the platform instead, the situation escalated and the employee became hostile.
The conversation continued in the lobby in front of other guests where the employee spoke about me in an inappropriate and humiliating way. At one point she even addressed comments to my child instead of speaking directly to me, which was completely unacceptable.
Another serious concern was the lack of hygiene around the breakfast area. I personally observed the same staff member handling breakfast items without washing her hands, which raised serious concerns about cleanliness and food safety.
I also noticed from other reviews that I am not the only guest who has had issues with the staff here. That is very concerning.
I recorded the interaction on my phone and the hotel’s lobby security cameras should also show what happened.
Guests—especially those traveling with children during an emergency snowstorm—should be treated with professionalism and respect. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. Management seriously needs to review how guests are treated at this property.

Best western’s brand is tarnished by this location.
Breakfast was nonexistent, except a coffee machine, bread, and dry cereal. I was there for 2 breakfasts and there was no milk, no eggs, no sausage (as every other BW has) - the pancake machine was the only hot food.
The juice machine had the same juice inside of it for days and doesn’t appear to be refrigerated because I can see it throughout the day, so it felt like a health hazard.

Rude Receptionist and Hidden Deposit Policy Ruined the Experience
We stayed here on December 2, 2025, and while the hotel itself is complete and well-maintained, our experience was ruined by the receptionist’s rude and unprofessional behavior.
At check-in around 2 PM, we were suddenly told about a $200 security deposit, which was never mentioned before arrival—not during booking or in any confirmation emails. The receptionist demanded either cash or our bank account details for the deposit. We felt uncomfortable but were pressured to provide our information. This situation left us very uneasy about the safety of our personal and financial data.
When I simply asked about check-in, the receptionist responded in an irritated tone, repeating “ID, ID” instead of explaining politely. Even when I mentioned that her tone was inappropriate, she didn’t apologize. It felt as if she disliked her job and made the atmosphere tense and unpleasant.
The breakfast was also disappointing—no bacon, ham, or cheese, which are basic breakfast items. The pancakes tasted artificial, almost like plastic, and there were very few options overall.
It’s unfortunate because the owners seem to have tried to make this hotel nice, and other Best Western locations in Japan have been much better. However, this experience left us disappointed and uncomfortable.
We hope management will review this issue, ensure proper communication about deposits, and train staff to treat guests with respect and professionalism.
