This hotel is awful. The rooms are so small and the heater sounded like it was going to blow up, they advertise breakfast from 6-10 but they shut everything down and put it away at like 8:30. The lobby snack section was almost completely empty the whole time. Do not recommend. Save yourself some time and annoyance and just go to the Marriott.

We choose Hampton Inns for most of our personal and business travel because of their consistency. Clean, updated rooms. A dependable hot breakfast. Friendly staff. It’s a brand we trust.
Unfortunately, the Hampton Inn White Plains/Tarrytown in Elmsford does not meet that standard.
To begin with the positive, the staff were kind, courteous, and clearly doing their best. They deserve high marks for their attitude and professionalism.
The facility itself, however, is dated and in urgent need of renovation. The rooms appear poorly maintained, which makes them feel difficult to keep truly clean. We found hairs in the bathroom that were not ours. There was no laundry bag in the closet and no ironing board in the room.
When I called the front desk at 6:30 AM to request an ironing board, I was told I would need to wait 30 minutes for staff to arrive before they could accommodate the request. I was preparing to attend a funeral that morning, so waiting for such a basic amenity was not reasonable.
Breakfast was equally disappointing. The serving area felt cramped and under-supported. The eggs were cold, there were no potatoes available, the muffins were stale, and even hot tea was unavailable.
The elevators smelled strongly of smoke, and the outdoor cigarette receptacles were overflowing.
Knowing we would return from the funeral emotionally drained and simply wanting to rest in a refreshed room, I specifically requested housekeeping service before leaving that morning. When we returned later in the day, the towels had been replaced, but the room had not been cleaned and the beds were not made. After an already difficult day, this further reinforced the sense that basic standards of service were not being met.
I rarely leave negative reviews, especially when the staff are clearly trying. But for those who rely on Hampton’s usual consistency, this location does not deliver the standard you expect.
I hope Hilton invests in bringing this property back to the level of quality the brand is known for.

We thought this will be a good hotel (despite the low reviews) since our Hampton stays have been pleasant in the past, but we were wrong. The minute we walked in, we could tell this place was simply tidied up but not cleaned for a stay. There was grit all over the floor and bathroom so clearly no one had vacuumed, the shower curtain didn’t appear to be clean, the toilet was definitely not clean as there was a brown ring around the water and brown stains in the toilet, there was a big yellow stain on the comforter that we didn’t discover until well into the second day of the stay because of how it was covered up with the textured sheet on top which makes us skeptical that the bedding ever gets washed properly. The pillows appear to be fluffy but are not and you sink right in, this led to some neck issues. Lastly, the breakfast which was ok, but very low stocked. I asked for a tea bag since there were in sight and the worker said that everything out there is all that they have and I would have to wait until they restock from when their shipment comes in (which we won’t be here to advantage of). The breakfast hours are good though in case you’re not an early riser- 6 to 10am.
You would think the hotel would be better maintained since there didn’t appear to be that many guests. Overall, it wasn’t the best stay and what some of the low reviews say is accurate. Would not stay here again.

I stayed in this hotel 7 nights over the last month. In seven nights, my room was NEVER cleaned. After 3 nights of staying in the room, I requested the room to be cleaned, and it was not. One front desk person offered a few hotel points for their negligence in cleaning the room, but this was a false promise. The night hostess is really nice, but the hotel is in such disrepair as to be unsafe.

Thank you to Christine who was extremely nice!
As mentioned I was on a business trip and the company secretary booked a room for me. I went to check into the hotel she booked only to turn around and leave. It was disgusting.
I searched for local hotels and found the Hampton Inn...my choice when I book rooms myself
I went to see if a room was available and here I am!!!
Thank you so much for top notch customer service
