Stayed one night for a trip to the museum. Nice hotel with a welcoming staff. Even with the snow and salt the staff was able to keep the lobby clean and floors dry. 5 minutes to downtown Cooperstown if you're driving slow -The room was clean, nice and spacious. It was a little warm and, since I couldn't open a window, I had to turn off the thermostat during my stay. I can't fault them for that because it's the winter -Beds were comfortable -The continental breakfast with added eggs and sausage was good Complimentary coffee and tea was available throughout the day -Bathrooms had good countertop space. The room being warm was actually a plus for the bathroom. Water pressure ok even after adjusting the shower head -The hotel lobby and halls had a citrusy clean scent that smelled better than some higher end hotels I've stayed in -Didn't use the pool or fitness center but they looked clean and well-equipped The reason it's not 5 stars was because, while the front desk was friendly, I was told that late checkout was different times by different people. When I first made the reservation and called I was told it was 2PM with a small fee. Then, I called the next day to clarify the fee and was told it was complimentary late checkout, but after 1PM it's a full night. Then, when I arrived I was told it was 12PM before being charged a full night The inconsistensy made me stay in for breakfast instead of go to a diner as initially planned. I saved money so that was good? But I had to rush the museum trip because it opened at 10 and I wanted to be back a quarter to noon so I could check out. Though I checked out around noon without any issues Also the pillows were not comfortable. Squishy on the outside with some firm center (memory foam?) that got hot quickly. Stacking the pillows was like stacking water balloons. Maybe people are into that? Overall a nice experience. The beds were comfortable enough to sleep without pillows
