I stay at the Embassy Suites Buffalo regularly and generally have very positive experiences, which is why this was disappointing enough to note.
The service is consistently excellent. On Wednesday, January 7th, my server Stephanie was wonderful—attentive, professional, and warm. The hostess was also great, as was the front desk staff. Breakfast was excellent, as usual, and overall the team does a fantastic job creating a welcoming experience.
However, during my visit to the bar/restaurant that evening, there were guests seated at the bar with a dog. I found this unsettling and, frankly, poor practice. While I understand being a dog-friendly hotel, that should not extend to the restaurant or bar where food and drinks are being served. It was off-putting and detracted from an otherwise enjoyable experience.
I share this as a regular guest who values this hotel and hopes standards around dining spaces are upheld. Everything else—from service to food—was excellent, but the presence of a dog in the dining area was unacceptable.
I stayed here with a few friends and this was easily the worst hotel experience I have ever had.
Around 2 to 3 AM, while we were all completely asleep, we were woken up by an extremely loud and aggressive knock at the door. I opened it and there was a security guard standing there telling us we had a noise complaint and that we had already been warned. That was flat out not true. We had never received a warning, no call, no knock, nothing at all.
I tried to explain that there had to be a mistake, but he refused to listen or speak to anyone else in the room. He told us we had 30 minutes to leave and said if we were not out by then he would call the police. He then stood outside the door while we packed, like we had done something wrong.
We were escorted out in the middle of the night, half asleep and completely confused. When we went to the front desk, no one would even acknowledge that a mistake could have been made. No apology, no explanation, no attempt to check anything. We were just told to leave.
What made it even worse was that after escorting us outside, we watched the same security guard go out and light a joint. He already smelled like weed when he showed up at our door, so seeing that just confirmed how unprofessional and careless the entire situation was.
Every hotel nearby was booked. Because of this place, my friends and I, all 21+, were left outside overnight until we could find somewhere to stay the next day.
Being kicked out in the middle of the night over a false noise complaint, by an unprofessional security guard, with zero effort from staff to fix the situation, is completely unacceptable.
I’m giving this place 2 stars, and that is only because I can’t give zero or negative stars. If I could, I would. I am also leaving this as a 2-star review so it actually stays up, because people deserve to know what can happen here.
Avoid this hotel.

Worst location possible and hard to get into drive area, best staff in the world though
The hotel gave us issues at every possible moment. From not allowing us to book a block of rooms, trying to DOUBLE the rate for the rooms a week before the wedding, not allowing us to check-in to our room until 4:00pm when our ceremony started at 4:30pm, and ultimately cancelling the courtesy shuttle due to us "not checking in soon enough", this hotel and it's staff are horrid. Our wedding party was split between three floors, and while they "upgraded" my wife and I to a king suite - it was directly under construction that we were not informed of, that began at 6am.

We visited only for a night but, valet's were friendly, and willing to give us information for navigating the area. We booked a king bed room, and the room was clean and inviting. The bed was comfortable and I experienced a good night's rest. We did have dinner in the restaurant, the food was delicious. Don't forget to check out the breakfast spread and the made to order omelettes. All in all I would come back again if and when we come to another show in Buffalo. I almost wish we made it a longer trip we enjoyed our stay.
