  I stayed at Holiday Inn Express NYC Brooklyn - Sunset Park with my partner, and I feel obligated to warn others about our experience. From the beginning, nothing about this stay felt right. The reservation process was unclear, and when we arrived, the front desk staff seemed unorganized and gave inconsistent information. It felt like they were making things up as they went. Our room had issues right away, including a broken cooling system, which made it very uncomfortable. On top of that, the noise level was unacceptable—there was a dog barking nearby all night, and we barely got any sleep. What really stood out was how unprofessional the staff was. My partner was told she would be charged an extra $50 unless she left a review because we checked in early. That is completely unacceptable and felt like a scam. No one mentioned anything like that when the reservation was made. When we tried to address these concerns, management, including Andrew, did not handle the situation properly. There was no real attempt to fix anything or make things right. Instead, we got conflicting answers from different staff members. Overall, this hotel does not operate with honesty or professionalism. Between the misleading information, poor conditions, and questionable practices, I would not recommend staying here to anyone.

  ⸻ I recently stayed at Holiday Inn Express NYC Brooklyn - Sunset Park and my experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. This location feels completely unprofessional and, honestly, like a scam. From the moment I made my reservation, things were not handled properly. When I arrived, the front desk staff was disorganized and gave misleading information. I was placed in a room where the cooling system did not work, making the stay uncomfortable. To make matters worse, there was constant noise throughout the night, including a dog barking in a neighboring room, which made it impossible to get any rest. I was traveling for business and this completely disrupted my trip. The most concerning part of my experience was the behavior at the front desk. I was told that because I checked in early, I would have to leave a review or be charged an additional $50. This was never disclosed during booking and felt extremely inappropriate and dishonest. When I checked out, I received completely different information from another employee, which only added to the confusion. The management, including Andrew, did not properly address these issues. There was no accountability, no clear communication, and no effort to resolve the situation in a professional way. Overall, this location operates very poorly—from reservations, to front desk service, to management. I would not recommend staying here. Travelers deserve transparency, honesty, and basic comfort, none of which were provided during my stay.

  I checked in at 2am. A man abruptly woke me 6 hrs later by opening my door at 815am for cleaning. When I reported the situation to the front desk, rather than offer a sincere apology and to cover my room, they said they'd have to see security footage to confirm my experience was true. For the exhaustion of broken sleep, the shock of a male cleaner seeing me half undressed, and for being told my experience wasn't real unless they reviewed security footage: they offered a late check out. I loved the view from the room and found it to be very clean; I wanted to be able to recommend this place - but I absolutely cannot recommend this hotel due to the strange service and hostile customer relations. I won't get into the feelings - I'll leave you to imagine how you'd feel.

  My only complaint about this place is it takes a while for the heat to work and then it's the driest heat ever takes a while for the air conditioner to work and you can either have it really hot or really cold other than the temperature this place is great not the best neighborhood so be aware of that
