‼️ Don’t stay here. ‼️. During the absolute coldest stretch of winter, their hot water was not working in the hotel, yet they did not disclose this to guests during check-in. This is deceptive and frankly boggles the mind, especially since hot water is a necessity for public health and basic comfort. I’m seeing their responses to guests saying things like “we appreciate your feedback and we will make our management team aware.”… GIVE ME A BREAK! It is simply common decency and respect to your customers to make them aware of an issue Such as this that has a major impact on their stay. hotel management should have known better, yet they withheld information from guests during check-in. I am actively losing faith IHG as a brand because it is clear they do not care about the customer experience. EDIT: and let’s all look at the very generic response from IHG below. They have clearly lost their way when it comes to customer service

My room wasn’t available until 4pm while there was a 3pm guaranteed check in. The room is also not as pictured with different furniture and cushions missing. While there was a balloon left in the room as well, seems as if the housekeeping rushed. The floors seem very dirty as well. No carpet, mini fridge was broken, and no fitted sheets! All I was offered was 30% off my room. This hotel is very under managed.

Such a long review but there’s something’s that need to be addressed.. Especially with being a IHG MEMBER
I chose this hotel specifically to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday it felt like the perfect choice. I booked a King Loft Suite and did extensive research beforehand because this stay was meant to be special. Unfortunately, from the moment I arrived, the experience went downhill.
I originally contacted the property on January 25th, right after booking, to request an early check-in and late check-out due to our tight schedule and the fact that we were traveling over 1 hour and 45 minutes from home. I was advised to follow up closer to my arrival date. Three days before check-in, I spoke with the front desk and was clearly told that I would be able to check in by 10:00 AM (or earlier if needed).
On the day of arrival, I arrived at 10:45 AM and was then told my room would not be ready until after 1:00 PM. This completely disrupted our plans and almost ruined the birthday surprise I had carefully planned, including dinner reservations later that evening. I sat in my car trying to rearrange appointments and hoping this delay wouldn’t affect the entire celebration. I do understand that things happen but i should’ve been contacted right away….
I do want to acknowledge Anese, who was kind enough to assist and ultimately helped me check in around 12:00 PM. I was grateful for her effort, even though this was still later than what I had been promised.
Unfortunately, once we arrived at Room 232, my disappointment grew significantly. The room was extremely dirty and did not feel properly cleaned at all. The floors were visibly dirty, the room had an unpleasant smell, the tables looked grimy, and the overall condition made it feel like a neglected party room rather than a suite prepared for a guest. I was so uncomfortable that I stopped a housekeeper in the hallway and asked her for cleaning spray and a rag so I could clean the room myself.
The balcony was equally unacceptable — furniture was scattered everywhere, snow appeared untouched and unshoveled, and the area looked completely neglected. Considering how much we paid, this was shocking.
Due to the tight timeframe and having to rush back to Long Island, I didn’t have time to take photos or request a room change. I had to quickly decorate and set up birthday gifts under stressful conditions, which took away from what should have been an exciting and joyful moment.
To make matters worse, I later discovered I was charged twice for incidentals ($200 each). When I contacted the property, I was told it was a mistake but that nothing could be done and I would have to wait 7–10 business days for the charge to fall off. Because of this error, I was temporarily out over $400, which caused additional stress during the trip.
I was also rushed out of the room from the front desk and house keeping the morning of checkout even asking for an extension of check out…
Altogether, I ended up paying over $950 for a one-night stay, and the experience did not come close to justifying the cost. I am not someone who enjoys leaving negative reviews, but this stay was deeply disappointing. The room either needs serious maintenance or a full deep cleaning, and communication regarding check-in times needs to be accurate and honest.
I was genuinely excited about this hotel and wanted it to be perfect. Unfortunately, it fell very short, and I left feeling frustrated, stressed, and upset rather than celebrated.

I’ve stayed here twice . My first stay, in 2023 was fine, but my most recent stay was Honestly quite unacceptable because of a lack of hot water in the middle of a brutally cold winter! 🥶🥶❄️.
First for the good: Rooms are spacious by NYC standards and are very comfortable. Location is good, walking distance to a lot of things.
Sadly, Most recently (Feb 1,2026) I did have an issue where there was no hot water available, this was frustrating since I really wanted a nice hot shower on a cold winter day after being out and about in the city… also was disappointed that this issue was not mentioned during my check in… since I see this issue mentioned in numerous other reviews, it feels like the hotel purposely withheld this Info from guests which is unacceptable and gives the impression that you don’t care about your customers experience .
I will say that the staff was very helpful and understanding of the frustration , and did what they could to make up for the lack of hot water… but management, please **LISTEN UP** — you need to be transparent and honest with your customers when issues arise that will impact your guests’ stay. And I will editt my review to point out that your response is nothing but generic corporate speak - why did management think it was acceptable to allow guests to check in to a hotel with no hot water?! This seems deceptive and just plan wrong.

We stayed at Hotel Indigo Williamsburg, located at 500 Metropolitan Avenue, Brooklyn, NY, from Friday, January 30th through Sunday, February 1st.
The location itself was not bad, and the weather during our stay was frigid. The staff members we interacted with were kind and polite, which made the situation even more disappointing.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering this hotel ask directly if they have HOT WATER before booking.
During our entire stay, there was no hot water at all. We washed our hands in freezing cold water, washed our faces, brushed our teeth, and attempted to shower in ice cold water. In the middle of winter, this was not just uncomfortable, it was unacceptable. If you are traveling with children, you absolutely do not want to stay here under these conditions.
When I asked the front desk about the issue, they implied it was temporary and that they were working on it. However, we had other family members staying on a different floor who were experiencing the exact same problem. When we checked out, we also spoke with other guests who had been there a day or two before us and had the same issues. That group was in town for a wedding and said they were never informed of these conditions in advance.
What was most disturbing is that the hotel was clearly aware of the lack of hot water and still allowed guests to check in without saying a single word about it, despite freezing temperatures outside. Guests should have been given the courtesy of transparency and the choice to stay elsewhere.
To make matters worse, the smoke alarms were going off repeatedly, day and night, making it nearly impossible to rest or sleep.
Despite all of this, there was ZERO discount, compensation, or acknowledgment of the inconvenience and disruption. Even if certain issues were outside their immediate control, the lack of honesty and consideration for guests was deeply disappointing.
I would highly NOT recommend this hotel. These are not minor inconveniences. People deserve to know exactly what they are walking into before booking, especially in winter conditions.
