We came for a crafting session and the hotel was full of kids of all kinds. They were very loud and rude in how they treated others especially in the pool. Speaking of the pool, the hotel policy for the pool is truly weird because you have to go to the front desk to get a key to the pool and you give up your room key to get the pool key. Which means that the have to go to the front desk wet to get your room key back. And you have to do this every time you want to use the pool. They also ran out of towels for the pool because of the number of people using it. I would only recommend this place if you’re staying with a group of kids.

Front desk- don’t expect a room to be ready at 4pm. Even the people ahead of us who’d requested an early check in time- room was not ready. Don’t expect to be able to sleep until (they said 9pm but the ridiculous noise from the atrium is going on well past that. No door to the bathroom that closes/locks?!?!? It’s a sliding door- the stupidest decision anyone ever made. For well over $200 per night no breakfast is included. This is literally the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Front desk took well over 40 minutes to check in the 4 rooms of guests that came in approximately the same time. Overall, it’s a $40 per night hotel masquerading as a $225 per night hotel. Horrible experience.

Only issue is that they allow guest to hang out by the pool & make all kinds of noises regardless of how late it is. Currently 132am & cant sleep because people are talking loud, playing music & laughing. Very inconsiderate. There are multiple rooms in that area & voices echo. Should have a quiet time policy in place.

Disappointed by Lack of Transparency – Not the Family-Friendly Stay We Expected plus room issues. I rarely write negative reviews, but I feel this experience is worth sharing. I stayed at this hotel with my two granddaughters while we attended a dance workshop nearby and I had hoped for a fun and relaxing weekend. Unfortunately, the stay left me stressed and disappointed — mostly because of a lack of transparency about what was going on at the hotel during our stay. When we arrived, we were told we had received an upgrade. While that was appreciated, the room had a mildew smell — not overwhelming, but noticeable. I couldn’t tell if it came from the HVAC system or the furniture. The room itself was clean but definitely dated, which I could overlook. The room had a trundle bed, which seemed great for kids. But I was surprised to find that no bedding had been provided for it. I had to to request sheets, a blanket, and a pillow — and then make the beds myself. This might seem minor, but given that my reservation clearly stated I had two children with me, I expected it to be ready. The bathroom also had a few issues — a rusting drain in the sink and a shower that was hard to adjust, causing water to spray out onto the floor. Again, nothing worth making a scene over, but not what I expect from a Holiday Inn. The biggest issue — and the reason for this review — was the complete surprise of a cage fighting event happening at the hotel that weekend. I want to be clear: I’m not against these events or the people enjoying themselves but when a hotel is hosting something of that scale — with loud crowds, no parking for returning guests and areas of the hotel turned into event space — I believe families should be told before they arrive. I booked directly with the hotel and clearly stated I was bringing children. We even encouraged friends to book here too, so the kids could enjoy some time together after the workshop. I had promised them we’d use the pool for a casual get-together that evening — only to find that the pool area had been converted into a bar with food service, and boxing space withmultiple setups. It was absolutely not appropriate for children. The hallways were crowded with event attendees, and the whole atmosphere was chaotic. Parking was nearly impossible until after 9:30 PM. Again, I understand that hotels need to host events and make money — but I strongly believe that families should be informed ahead of time when something like this will dominate shared guest spaces. This is not a large convention hotel or casino — it’s a smaller property, marketed as family-friendly. I never imagined something like this would be happening here, and if I had known, I would have booked elsewhere. This experience caused unnecessary stress during what should have been a joyful weekend. I’ve stayed at many hotels over the years, including many Holiday Inns, and I’ve generally had positive experiences. But this stay has made me rethink where I book in the future. If you're traveling with children, make sure to ask if any events are scheduled during your stay — especially if you’re counting on using the pool or other common areas. I know I’ll be asking from now on.

Oct 2-5 2025 Where to begin? The hotel, or at least what we saw of it, needs a total renovation: peeling wallpaper, dirty and old rugs, and outdated furniture. The bathroom is bad. The shower was weak and hard to aim because the wall bracket was loose. There was a stain on the ceiling above the bed. We got a “suite” because our grown son was going with us. I made that clear when the reservation was made. All of the furniture in the room was pushed against the wall, and it looked like the room was being used for storage. Utterly bizarre. The bedroom was better. There were what looked like dried noodles on the sofa bed. A few tiny pieces. Disgusting. The sofa bed wasn’t made up. There were only towels for 2 people. When we told the desk that, they told us where the sheets were. The “Blanket was just a thin sheet, no duvet, nothing to keep warm in the A.C. (which was excellent). Sorry, you knew there would be 3 of us, and I’m not paying hundreds of dollars to make hotel beds. Seriously? They had the bed made up, and towels were sent up. The room smelled like mildew. There was dirt on the carpet, and a large amount of dust on the rug in front of the air unit. Obviously, hadn’t been vacuumed. Seriously? The internet was the worst I’ve ever had in any hotel, anywhere. It took 8 minutes to download one simple app. Took forever for video to load, but most of the time it wouldn’t load at all. The day before we checked out, housecleaning knocked because they thought we were checking out. That was at 11 am. We asked them to come back in a bit, but THEY NEVER DID. Our room wasn’t made up at all. They skipped our room. Completely. Do you pay extra at the Holiday Inn for a clean room? Seriously? To top it all off. We went out to our car in the lot, the morning of to next-to-last day. Some hotel people had cut a square in the middle of the driveway and dug down about 4 feet. Working on something, I don’t know what. They pointed out to us that our car had been covered by a thick layer of dust and dirt. Completely covered. They were very nice and offered to pay for a local car wash, but we had no time for that. Other than the windows, the car stayed filthy. How about roping off that part of the driveway so nobody parks there. The bed was good (not the ancient sofa bed), and the room was very quiet. This was an absolutely awful and depressing stay, and frankly, we were ripped off. A Motel 6 would have been a better value. I’ve had better value at hotels in 3rd World countries. We’ll never stay at a Holiday Inn again. It was no holiday. Sending this to the corporate office as well. It was that bad.
