I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Auburn for one night as a stopover on my way to a ski trip in Vermont. Since this was a free night for me, I wasn’t overly concerned about value, but the stay turned out to be memorable for reasons I didn’t quite expect. I booked a room with one king bed and an additional daybed that extends into another pull-out, allowing the room to sleep up to four people. The room itself is quite large and spacious, with plenty of floor space and a generously sized closet—I was easily able to fit my large check-in suitcase inside with room to spare. From a purely functional standpoint, everything worked as it should, and the beds were comfortable. That said, this has to be one of the most visually interesting—and honestly hilarious—hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. None of the furniture matches. The bedside tables are different from each other, the lamps don’t match, and even the headboard doesn’t coordinate with either side table. The wall next to the television continues this theme, with multiple pieces of furniture that appear completely unrelated in style or color. It feels like a true mix-and-match experiment rather than a cohesive room design. See photos One particularly baffling detail was a sink installed under a shelf in an unexpected location. I still can’t quite make sense of why it’s there or what the design intent was. Adding to the overall surreal vibe: the room has pink ceilings and pink curtains. This is not something I ever expected to see in a Holiday Inn, and it definitely caught me off guard. Check-in itself was very easy and smooth. However, there was a small disconnect when the front desk clerk told me I could park in the back. When I drove around, the large rear doors had a note stating they didn’t work. I went back to let the clerk know, and he seemed genuinely surprised, inter staff communication isn’t that great maybe , one person does something and does not relay the message to other team member and they end up finding from a guest . The true highlight of this hotel, though, is the atrium. I stayed here in December during a snowstorm, and despite the winter weather, the balcony doors open into a fully indoor atrium. This means you can actually step out onto your balcony and enjoy the space year-round. The atrium is beautiful, with a swimming pool and a very open, inviting feel. It’s easily the best feature of the property. The only downside is that there are no chairs placed on the balconies or in ideal viewing spots to sit and enjoy the atrium, which feels like a missed opportunity. Overall, my stay was comfortable and functional, but the room itself was unforgettable due to its wildly mismatched décor and unexpected design choices. If you’re looking for a place with a standout atrium and don’t mind (or even enjoy) quirky, unconventional room aesthetics, this Holiday Inn in Auburn will certainly give you a story to tell.

Last year, I stayed here for my son's hockey tournament . They drained the pool because they didnt want to deal with the kids. This year I decided to give them a try after how rude the staff was. Only to find the pool closes at 8. If you do not want to deal with the fanfare of a pool, get rid of it. The only reason I got the room last year and this year was for the pool. If you have children, this hotel is not for you. They do not want kids having fun.

Interesting layout some rooms have balconies over the pool area. Nice when it's cold to have a balcony you can open but bad if you hate some noise here and there. Pool was a bit too cold Room was clean and. Large Halls and elevator a bit dust could use some more cleaning. Staff were all very nice. Had very expensive ev chargers in lot .69 cent per kwh for 10kw charging and 80 some cents for 200kw charging. Good parking having many entrances so you were never to far from an entrance. Breakfast was a bit cold sausage french toast sticks cheesy eggs cerial and bagles. Was $13 for breakfast would not recommend the breakfast unless it was free.
