Fine, but very loud with paper thin walls. If you want restful sleep, stay elsewhere!! During our stay here, 2/3 nights had very loud bass throughout the whole building until 1-2 am; there is a loud bar connected to the lobby of the hotel and let me tell you, it seems to be popular. Even after the music, We also could hear everything our neighbors did, which unfortunately in our case was having loud conversations and walking around in stilettos at 5 am. To top it all off, one of the nights, the fire alarm went off a few times around 2 am. “False alarm”, of course. The one night that we didn’t have to deal with late music we were awoken by construction workers finishing drywall around 6 am in the adjacent room! You’d think they could’ve put us on a floor that was not right next to 6 am construction 😬 The room was clean enough, albeit small, and the neighborhood was convenient. The shower controls were a bit wonky and it was hard to get warm water out, but eventually I got it to work. I really wish we had stayed elsewhere.

Well, this was my first time in NYC. Maybe I just got lucky! This place is awesome! The price is extremely fair and the rooms are very comfortable. I can’t say enough about the staff, very friendly, very helpful and welcoming. This place is accessible to everything, some of the best food I ever ate, a grocery store and the train, all right there! A “Good Ole’ Boy” from podunk Oklahoma, could not have asked for better! I was in town working. If I’m ever back, this will be where I will stay. I hope, if any of the great people I met during my stay in NYC are ever in Oklahoma, they are met with the same courtesy and open arms…..truly!

We stayed at the Voco Astoria for a family event and the entire family attending the event stayed there. I think we left with uniformly positive feelings about the property though the Frozen pipes during the polar vortex did result in one of our party having no heat when it was near 0 fahrenheit outside but this was remedied quickly with a new room so well done under extreme circumstances. The location right at the subway stop was just fantastic and super convenient. It really didn't matter where we went in Manhattant, it was an easy ride. While the rooms are on the small side, they work, the outlets/charging on both sides of the bed and the ""bureau" are a really nice touch. Shower works great though the bathroom is a bit cramped - thankfully we aren't large people so this all worked for us. Interestingly, my only criticism of the hotel was the poor quality of the tissue and TP - one ply and a bit rough. I hope that they hotel can keep it rates down in the future as it was a tremendous value for us noting, of course, we visited in February which is definitely not primetime for visiting NYC.

Our stay at the Voco Hotel Astoria was a generally positive experience! Most of that positivity came from Shauna, who made our stay much more enjoyable and was a very down-to-earth, willing to help individual. She truly wanted to make sure we were taken care of. Our biggest issue was that the front door was an automatic sliding door, and we were staying there in the middle of the winter, and so the door kept opening into the very small lobby and letting cold air in. We felt badly for the front desk attendants, as they must have been freezing! Thank you, Shauna, for all that you did for us.
